Quick Look: Dead or Alive Xtreme 3: Fortune

If you're interested in playing this game, you can quite easily get the Asia (Hong Kong) version. Unlike the Japanese version in the Quick Look, the Asia version has English subtitles and the UI is all in English as well. There's no English voice overs, but you can at least read everything, which is good considering so much of this game is menus.

All you have to do is create a Hong Kong PSN account. It's free, just make sure you say "yes" when asked if this is your primary PS4 for the account (your main PSN account and this HK account can both be primary at the same time). Then, you can either import the game or purchase HK PSN cards through a site like PlayAsia and download it. Once you have the game, you can switch over to your "real" profile to play it and still get trophies if that's your thing. The DLC you download through the HK PSN store will still be in the game while playing on your "real" profile too. The only thing that doesn't cross over is the microtransaction "tickets" you can buy, but you don't really need those anyway.

Lots of things dumber than this exist in Japan. Most of them just don't make their way over here in any significant capacity (see also: Gal Gun, Metal Wolf Chaos)

Bought this game and am loving it so far, I've put about 20 hours in and don't see myself putting it down anytime soon. The casino is really addicting and unlocking new stuff is quite fun.

It's just a kitchy little game with a relaxing atmosphere, definitely a nice change of pace.

ok I bought this game too but I haven't even gotg 2 hours of gamepla out of it. I like beach flag and volleyball but how do you get 20 hours? I mean I can get 20 hours just leaving the game ON but actually playing it for 20 hours what do you unluck besides other swimswuits? Is there more to the game besides what they show us in the intro menus (beahc flags, butt hopping, pool battle etc)?

How can you have a "Dead or Alive Extreme/Xtreme" intro without Meja's "Crazy for You"?

@icarusfoundyou: Actually i don't think nicheness of a game has any effect on the success or failure of microtransactions. In fact, the more niche something is the more users may feel compelled to spend money to support it ("If I don't do it, who else will?").

Just look at how crazy train simulator DLC prices are. Someone is buying it!

If this is the sort of game you want to play, go for it, but this just seems kinda bad. The mini-games seem dull, hair clips through chins etc., the cloth physics seem to be on the verge of freaking out the entire time, and the whole thing looks like it started as a port of DoAX2

Side note - I can't believe I only just realised why the names are as such (Fo(u)rtune on PS4; Venus on Vita)

Oh man I'm looking at all the japanese during the cutscenes and can't help but think how GBeast would kill this QL with their tendency to roleplay/voiceover

@steveurkel: There aren't more mini-games. But unlocking new swimsuits, videos, getting more money and figuring out what items each girl likes and what they will accept or reject are the core of what these games have always been. This one is no exception and doesn't disappoint.

I really like the new owner mode because it makes the game more challenging, it's where you can unlock new modes by raising your owner level and get the best items and swimsuits. I've done 4 vacations so far, each of which have taken me around 5 or so hours each. So that's where the time count comes in.
