I was thinking the same thing. Would be the greatest troll ever if they released a Battlefield patch that made it so when you hopped in a jet you had to do all of this before taking off. Just leave it that way for a weekend and then patch it back to normal on Monday or something. I can dream I guess.

At least it would prevent people from just randomly jumping in the jets and then crashing them 15 seconds later...

MORE Simlulator quick looks, this is stuff is insane, I dont have a comp to run this, but reeally enjoy watching these guys go through it. Daves nervousness is the best thing about this video.

@alcor741: Well I haven't really tried it yet except for like half an hour but it looked just as HC as this one with all the cold starts and stuff. It's going to be one of those long term projects for me. If you think you'll like it you should probably get it now as it's on sale till the 9th.

This is almost exclusively PC. Which is obvious when you think about it. The limitation of a pad, and the niche of the genre

God, I missed this aircraft so much from when I was medically seperated 4 years ago from an accident related to weapons system. I was an Armament Tech, which is the people who install and repair every piece of weapons systems and tech on the A-10, including putting the missiles and assorted munitions on the aircraft pre-flight. This has been on my Steam wishlist at the top spot since I saw it, I just didn't want to spend the money without knowing if it was quality, and none of the guys I keep in contact with from my time in the AF have played it, most are just interested in either Counter Strike or Modern Warfare...

Hearing the 'bitching betty' alarms when they messed up the sequences brought back memories! And for anyone wondering, the nose pitches up AND the aircraft is slowed down when the 30mm gun is fired; the force of the gun going fullblast is so intense, pilots are told to press and release the trigger, never hold it down, as it can damage the engines and overheat the gun system, which is a nightmare to try to repair, take it from me!

Thanks for the informative quicklook guys, and from making this one of the first games I purchase this year!

I had a friend that built his own cockpit for flight sims like this. He converted a tiny storage space in his house. Put in a massive back-lit custom built control console and a bunch of flat screen monitors. It cost him a couple thousand dollars to do it. And you had to literally crawl through a little door to get in like Being John Malkovitch. I don't even like flight sims and it was it was just about the most awesome thing ever.

Great Quicklook! I just love those simulators, I am flying with FSX and PMDG planes for over a year now and it´s the best experience one can have with a pc.

It´s just so realistic and great. Love this stuff.

Havent laughed this hard in quite some time. Genuine sense of excitement, wonder and bewilderment from Vinny, Drew and Dave. Awesome combo combining chemistry from Random Pc Game and Load Last Save.

I always enjoy flight sim quick looks.

Good God that was painful to watch. Quick tip, you can press the Master Caution button to cancel the alarm. Makes startup a little quicker and less noisy. Also the TGP is your friend. It cost $1.4 million and they put it on your wing because it's by far the absolutely funnest thing to play with on the aircraft. Please turn it on next time :)

Thanks for the quick look. I was looking for it a few months ago and glad you guys finally got around to it. Be sure to do another one as soon as the Nevada update comes out, but for the love of all that is holy, please practice it a little first. I can tell that Drew hasn't put in as many hours as he says he did and a quick run through the tutorials again goes a long way.

@chem: For the first 30 minutes I was screaming, "FOR THE LOVE OF GOD TURN THOSE ENGINE IGNITORS TO AUTO AND BUMP THE THROTTLE INTO IDLE ALREADY!". It was those two switches just to the left of the pilot's hip and Drew must have passed over them a hundred times. An him turning the APU on and off was just driving me crazy too. Good stuff though. Had me on edge for an hour :)

The A-10C Warthog Quick-look was great, you three need to team up and do more of these, clearly the people love them!

I've had A-10C in my Steam wishlist for a while now and was even more tempted to buy during the Holiday sale at $19.99.

Once I saw it in your top 10 (Drew) I could no longer fight the urge, then the Quick-look happened just in time to even further rationalize my purchase!

Was entertaining as all hell, thanks guys.

P.S. - I've had this conversation with you before Drew and I'm gonna say it again, you guys need a TrackIR!

Maybe the 3 of ya's could pitch in and grab one.

I was going through this big, ol bag of VHS porn that
somebody gave me & found some CDs down in it.
One of them was an AC-10 Warthog simulator cd
circa the mid to early 90s.  So imagine my shock
when I see this game being played in a QL as if it
was..fuckin' new or something.
