Oh hey! There's a Fight Fighters arcade cabinet from Gravity Falls! If there was a ton of gravity falls stuff in here and I could build my own mystery shack, I would maybe be sold...

I feel like I learned something about Jason today.

It's a good thing I don't really wanna play this on last gen consoles, cause otherwise I'd fall hard.

Bit surprised to see the additions they added. Being the owner of 1 Jack Skellington figure and having never touched the infinity software this set at the least makes me feel more likely to think about it or that toy box expansion with the older set if possible

Jason's fun little (wet) room was certainly something. I appreciate it. Thank you.

Couple bits of clarification. Twilight of the Republic is based on the Star Wars Clone Wars series that premiered on Cartoon Network in 2008 and headed up by Dave Filoni, not to be confused with the 2003 series of the same name headed up Genndy Tartakovsky, of Samurai Jack fame. Both series take place between Episode II: Attack of the Clones and Episode III: Revenge of the Sith.

Filoni's Clone Wars series was cancelled after the Disney acquisition of Lucas Film, his new series Star Wars Rebels which premiered last year on Disney XD takes place between Revenge of the Sith and A New Hope and focus on telling the linear narrative of a single group of new characters compared to the non-linear narrative of Clone Wars which jumped around between different characters from story arc to story arc. Disney Infinity 3.0 does include 4 characters from Rebels, including Ezra who was at the end of the Quick Look, they don't have their own playset but they can be unlocked for use in the Star Wars playsets.

The Toy Box Takeover disc is also only $20, it was included as a pre-order bonus for physical versions of the game and it will be released as a stand-alone product in October.

I think I'd like this franchise more if it weren't for the really sleazy toy mechanic that it's built around. Buying a game that only includes a handful of characters and then having to buy little collectible figurines to "unlock" the rest... ugh. I'm used to car packs and DLC packs and bla bla bla after all the years of micro-transaction hijinks, but this is a bit much.

It'd be like buying Marvel: Ultimate Alliance back in 2006 and only getting Captain America, Wolverine, Iron Man, and Spider-Man (all missions require a team of four characters or you'd have less). "Want the others? Well, you're in luck. We sell each character separately for about $10 to $15 bucks. You even get a little plastic figurine to go along with the activation code / base. We've also got $30 dollar two-packs and $40.00 three packs. Best Value!"

Is there even a way to earn in-game currency to just buy the character you want that way, like in Heroes of the Storm? I've never heard of such a thing, so I highly doubt it. It's an overt cash grab designed to cozy up to parental wallets. There's zero subtlety. *shrug*

Edit addition:

This was written before the Marvel-focused Disney Infinity 2.0, and definitely before the Lucas-focused Disney Infinity 3.0. I'm not saying that these games aren't well made. They're just greedy, especially since they're Disney games using Disney-owned characters and settings. It's not like Disney is having to pay itself gargantuan licensing fees to use its own intellectual properties.

If you don't want the toys, the PC version is free, and the characters are 5.99 each, or way cheaper as a bundle. (I think you can go all in for about $100 or so). You can also hit up ebay and buy up the cards that come with the toys for pennies on the dollar.

They also cycle through characters if you want to play for free, like a lot of similar modeled games do now. You can pay to unlock the ones you want to keep permanently.

I was actually kind of down on it, but then I got onboard for 2.0 and the build quality on the toys is pretty great. I just ordered a bunch more this weekend for 3.0.

Let me be the 1000th person to day "Anakin and Asoka are NOT in Star Wars Rebels. They are from the Clone Wars cartoon." Rebels are a whole new cast of characters.

Just remember that JarJar doesn't get mentioned at all in Episode 4-6. He must have done something so bad, so despicable, that this former general, senator and overall representative of a race is not only written out of history, but his entire race is. Whatever it was is probably the biggest mystery of the Star Wars Universe, but it must have been something real sick.

should have inserted his ghost at the end of Episode VI.

I mean, they kinda did. DVD Episode 6 has the insert of Gungans on Naboo celebrating the Emperor's downfall. Cuz who doesn't want to see that?

From a review I read, Jarjar is there to basically be a troll. He's constantly messing up and getting you into trouble.

Huh, they say that the 'inside ship' video part "looks awesome"(from the title screen cap)......I had the opposite reaction, that looooks pretty dumb. I suppose, in context its not so cringe-y, but reminds me of a mix between the Back to the Future adventure game(which was ug-uh-ly) and Lego.

The Fight Fighters machines are actually a reference to the Disney show Gravity Falls, which parodied Street Fighter in one of their episodes.

Kinda cool to see it featured in the game. Makes me wonder if they have any other Gravity Falls stuff in there.

There were a lot of great ideas in Disney Infinity, but sadly the series just became an increasingly cluttered mess of dull gameplay, seemingly due to having multiple developers working on tight production schedules - It was the mediocre buffet table of video games.
