I would really like to play this, but it seems to be one of those first person games (fairly rare these days thankfully) that make me really motion sick. Will enjoy the Quick Look though.

Really nonplussed since the artstyle is ripped (minecraft anyone?) and the sound design really poor (when the frog things attack a guy just says ah and oh! really??); honest opinion. The constant discordent pads in the background are the only thing that creates some tension; the gfx and the sounds do not support that.

Now I can see others, esp. ones who like the mc-esque artstyle get into it; and so they should. But for me, thats nothing. I think this game would benefit a lot from overhauled, better quality gfx and sfx.

Please don't stab Drew for using the term rogue-like. C'mon. It's Drew. Don't do it.

I'm down for rouge-like games. I love any game that is full of randomness and re-playability.

You know, this keeps proving true to me. QL's kind of rock, as long as it's accepted the QL'er is going in often blind. I know there is stuff on You-tube, but I tend to only go there for music and what is in my watch history.

The arms are really the only bit that bothers me graphics-wise, and I actually think the idea that the monsters just sound like people is pretty funny.

I might check this out sometime.

@bybeach: Yup, Watching QLs has sold me on way more games than reading previews and reviews ever has. I know that QLs came about because Jeff and Ryan had such a small staff and budget that just showing off a game for a few minutes was the most practical way of covering most games, but it's such an amazing little feature.

This game looks kinda interesting too, a bit burnt out on the roguelike/rougelite genre right now though.

The market really has been oversaturated with roguelikes and Minecraft inspired games, but this still seems cool.

The question was rhetorical. Assuming the first statement is true is part of the second statement. I'm assuming you knew that as well, so there's no need for me to point this out either.

I like Drew's "WOOP" sound.

For anyone that can get past the visuals (I'll admit, I don't like them much myself) this game has A LOT going for it. It is one of the rare games I've played recently that really lets you choose how you play and all the different ways are viable. Stealth around (probably my favorite - leads to a lot of tense moments), kill everyone, run past everyone, blow up everything - all totally doable and fun.

I'm still fully enthusiastic about Roguelikes and Roguelike-likes and RogueLites and what have you.

Jeff and Brad are against lean? What the hell is wrong with leaning?

Drew's uttered words/sound when he panics is amazing

Spelunky revolved around having extremely risky situations and tackling those with appropriate risk-vs-reward strategies, but in this game every enemy is slow moving with a giant hitbox... why bother even getting the gun and ammo when you can knife things infinitely?

Hopefully the later levels have actual enemies and traps that don't just sit there waiting for you to be an idiot and walk on top of gigantic spikes.

Is it me only just noticing or has Drew become a lot better at doing Quick Looks?

Two things: First, I have very much enjoyed what I've played of this game. Second, I can't think of more than maybe two modern games with Lovecraftian themes and I want more.

Think this looks pretty ugly. The blocky style doesn't make much sense here considering there doesn't seem to be any resource gathering.

Roguelikes will NEVER get old for me.
