Graphically this does look a little rough. I can live with that though if it is fun.

I have the same problem with my PS4 on and off for months. Haven't tried the screw method, but apparently that's only a temporary fix. I hate these consoles so much!

I can't wait to play this on my XB1 tonight. Hopefully the framerate holds up enough. I'm using the NXOE so hopefully that doesn't make it worse.

If only this Quick Look was 14 hours long...

To the game's credit, I went into this not giving a damn about the game. I'm now thinking about buying it :/

For not taking that PS4 out for RMA you have yourselves to blame, Sony quietly accepted that defect of 2013 built units. And please let its jankiness be reflected in the review score. Games should stop shipping like this. I want Bethesda to finally start working against the Bethesda jank. It's unacceptable. Accepting it and considering it cute quirks or "if you can deal with it it's a great game" is bad.

Can't decide whether I'm pissed or glad that this doesn't drop here in Japan until December. Too hyped. God damn.

Man that engine is dated. But I guess it sells. They don't really have motivation to create a new one or improve animations/the way characters interact with the world.

You should try the RMA method. To me it sounds like something is just dirty, maybe try clean it.

@somejerk: Nothing about the "jank" in this game seems too bad and your always going get it in open world games like this (see: every game open world game ever). The game seems to have other problems far more significant than a little weird open worldy-ness. Still hyped as fuck to play it tonight though.

@xeirus: lol, you are funny, how is anything i said angry. I didn't yell, didn't call anyone names, i didn't swear at anyone, i just commented on a situation that happened that clearly could have been avoided. But wasn't.

I'm definitely Elder Scrolls > Fallout but the main reason is the environment, and this game looks a lot more interesting than Fallout 3. Looking forward to it.

@superslidetail: They don't spoiler the story though they do a few sides quests and show off a follower.

God, the inevitable UI overhaul mod for this can't come any sooner. It looks like the pipboy has a lower in-world resolution than F3. Makes me want to tear my eyeballs out between the overscan, blur, and curved glass overlay.

Beyond that, I'm way more at ease seeing this Quick Look. The shooting looks thoroughly enjoyable, the world building charm seems intact, (Goodfeels, Legendary Radroach, etc.) and it seems like a really good base for the mod community to go nuts on PC. Seeing what the modders have cooked up has always been my favorite part of any Bethesda game.

I've been evangelist over the years against people taking Bethesda to task over their lack of polish, but I'm starting to concede. They make so much money with every release that they should have enough sway with Zenimax to get more time in the oven. I wish this would have spent another year for nothing but polish, but maybe the engine kneecaps them. Either way, something drastic needs to change before they release another game because it's becoming unacceptable as more open world games get it right.

Still standing by my opinion that, even though the game graphically isn't that impressive, that lighting/colour work is real nice looking. The dead trees on the horizon actually look impressive because of that stuff.

It's getting straight 9's everywhere else so I'm gonna say they're not going to be fixing their engine any time soon, unfortunately. It's crazy Bethesda can still get a free pass even in the current "stop shipping broken/unstable games for the love of god" climate we're in now (especially when open world jank and clunky gameplay barely exist in AAA games these days-- just look at what MGSV and Witcher 3 managed, even on the consoles).

I was sort of looking forward to the game, but for some reason, after watching the quick look I'm not really feeling it as much. Don't know why...

Bummer to see that this appears to be yet another typical Bethesda open world RPG. I'll wait a year or so until the community has put some serious work into it.

@north6: New Vegas wasn't a Bethesda game. The last was Fallout 3. New Vegas was developed by Obsidian.

Remember the crew worried about the lack of hype for this game on one of the last Bombasts? Jeez, I don't think I could take any more hype; I feel like I'm about to explode! Freaking great quick look!

Hmm, a lot of people really into this game in the comments. I've played every Fallout and Elder Scrolls game, all great games, and I see nothing here that makes me want to play F4. Am I burned out? Maybe if they did some really weird new things with the franchise, but this looks like a better F3. Which is OK, but... I don't know.

I kinda feel like I've already played this game.

So much for them saying they are keeping the framerate smooth at 30. Those drops look annoying, can't wait to play this on PC despite it looking like and playing like my nostalgic rendition of my time with Fallout 3
