Holy shit! Thank you for this gem, how have I never seen this.

You can see the stabbing imagery in Alex's eyes as he is simultaneously trying not to laugh, priceless.

This game sounds really good, but the gameplay looks kinda janky. Especially those takedowns look unfinished, like you're just being teleported towards a character model after which he falls down. It doesn't actually look like you're using your hands to kill the person.

Also not sure that the feathery stuff is more fun than killing someone and seeing blood splash around.

I was really disappointed that this wasn't a Geteven game.

@mekon: While an interesting idea, the Krummlauf wasn't really practical. Bullets tended to fragment when they hit the curve in the barrel and the extreme friction and pressure made them last about as long as a fart in the wind.

Also the pistol is rendered with the slide rails overhanging the frame at the back, like it would do when locked open, but it shouldn't do that when ready to fire. Lol.

This game looks pretty great! I don't know if I will play it - maybe if it goes on sale for Christmas time - but it looks really interesting.

Ray Winstone was the first name I thought of as well, although that's more for its gravelly quality than its regional dialect.

I played Condemned about 4-5 years ago and it didn't even hold up then. It might have been good as a 360 launch game when there wasn't much else to play, but it's really nothing interesting.

Am I the only one who thought the main character sounded like Temuera Morrison?

You know what this kind of reminds me of? Legend, with Sean Bean. He plays an amnesiac FBI agent and it's pretty good.

I've got a friend who worked with Sean Bean recently. As well as being a legendarily nice guy, he's also an enthusiastic vaper. Sub ohm Sean, as I'm sure absolutely nobody calls him...

They must have spent a long time coming up for a name for it.

If anything, it's the opposite. This guy definitely has a Northern accent, similar to Bean's Sheffield accent, whereas Statham speaks with a London accent (although Wikipedia says he was born in Derbyshire). You can hear the difference particularly clearly in vowels like the short U in "fuck" at 14:35 (which is more rounded, a little like "fook", but not so extreme), or the I in "right" at 22:30 (which is more open, almost like "raight").

EDIT: If the Steam comments are correct about it being Mark Sheppard, or if IMDb is correct about it being Edward Dogliani, they both appear to be from London, so either I don't know what I'm talking about or the actor is putting the accent on for the role.

@mindkiller: Remember that period of time when every other male had the Don Draper haircut and gigantic wilderness man beard? That’s what I imagine a 2015 haircut is.

Speaking of graffiti tag names, there was/is a highly prolific tagger around Wimbledon who appeared to go by "PORN".

@jamesm: 100% the guys accent is a generic northern (lancarshire/yorkshire/derbyshire type) one.

It makes me laugh how the GB guys put any British regional accent down as Cockney when they sound nothing like Cockney (which isn't even really a thing outside of certain parts of the East End anyway). If anyone is interested, most youths in and around London now talk (if they have a non RP accent) with a mix of cockney, estuary English, and west-Indian inspired lingo.

If you weren't born in certain working-class boroughs of East London then you don't speak Cockney!

EDIT: Although to be fair this guys accent is all over the place. The character is probably written to be some northern ex SAS or something, but the actor's natural accent keeps popping through!

I'm going to go ahead and call it now, this is 100% a video game version of the "White Bear" episode from Netflix's Black Mirror. I really wish they had bothered to write the first 20 minutes with a little more subtlety, as someone who already saw "White Bear" it was like getting beaten over the head with the foreshadowing.

I liked Condemned a LOT, the gameplay needed work. Lots of work admittedly. The atmosphere and constant uncertainty of what the fuck was going on really appealed to me though. I'll wait to hear more impressions, but I'll likely jump at this in the hopes that it hits the same notes for me.

I remember enjoying Remember Me but I agree with Alex. Had an amazing soundtrack and world but the gameplay felt real flat.

Well, at least we now know that the Beast crew can't tell a northern English accent from a southern one.

Doesn't sound like any of the actors they mentioned, chalk that one up to "'mericans".

Cannot stand it when games are like 'you can do it two ways!' and then are clearly going to punish you somehow for doing it one of those two ways, specifically thinking about the stealth vs shoot everyone option. I feel like it's the game dev equivalent of 'you're doing it wrong' or 'you can play this way if you suck.' I'm like Vinny as soon as the game is like 'killing people is bad' I immediately feel pressure not to.

So glad the finally mentioned Ray Winstone, I was mentally screaming it. And even went for KotCS as a movie refference, which is sadly the first thing that popped into my head as well.

The voice actor for Cole Black is Edward Dogliani and he was in Game of Thrones (then again pretty much every British actor is at this point)
