What do you think about space Alex?

"We are not supposed to leave this planet. We are not supposed to. We where not ment to do it. Space is this prison and we are supposed to stay there. We are not supposed to leave. We shuld not leave. No more space. We are not going there anymore."

Vinny somehow made a better, more suspensful version of Gravity and he did it cheaper and in way less time.

Watching them fail to put the capsule on the fuel tank at the end was rather frustrating

Is it only me that have problem streaming the new videos, it's like the video cashes up, and after a little while it just stops, after a moment, probably after cashing up again it runs for a little bit, and stops again, this has happened for med the last few months, with all new videos, its not my Windows install, since I've reinstalled a few times since this started, and no, i did not reinstall Windows because problems with Giant Bomb video streaming.

Now I really don't mind this since all videos simultaneously uploads to YouTube, and streaming from there is no problems at all, but I do think it's a bit sad more and more problems seams to occur on this site lately.
Anyhoo, if I'm the only one having problems, just disregard this, as I said, I can watch the vids on YouTube, but if other people have the same problems, maybe it's time to call someone, maybe Alex ^_^

I would watch "Vinny and Alex tries to land on Mars" every day.

Yeah definitely, this would work really well as a premium feature as they try to complete the various missions semi-seriously.

Vinny's craziness coupled with Alex's space anxiety was hilarious.

As someone who looked into how to actually play this thing, Vinny's previous antics with this game were entertaining to be sure, but a little frustrating. This time however, Vinny's done his homework (and it is work). He did a great job of communicating everything this game has going on and it was still fun to watch. I would watch Vinny play this for hours.

That was a real hot mess.

As someone who has done a lot of trial and error in this for hundreds of hours, I strongly recommend you look up "asparagus staging". It will save you a lot of time and frustration.

I'm liking having the notes thing under the videos letting you know if the game has been covered before.

Edit: I played a bunch of the pre-release version and judging from the quick look they made it easier to figure out how to get into orbit around things and make it to the moon. Or maybe that's just because vinny explained all that.

@larmer: That's the one where you fire all your engines but use the fuel from only two engines at a time right? Great technique that got me everywhere in the solar system.

@mashzapotato: It uses all engines at once but each fuel tank feeds into the next down a linear line. So only the rocket at the end of the line is losing any fuel. Like a daisy chain (or multiple daisy chains). Then you can ditch it when it runs out. It's super efficient and gives you incredible amounts of thrust and control, and no dead weight. You can get pretty much anything into orbit, no matter how big, pretty easily using that method.

@larmer:IIRC another major reason this is so effective is because of terminal velocity, and more rockets ends up being inefficient because of atmospheric drag, so you're basically wasting precious fuel to go a fraction faster. Really this game is like 80% fuel management. I love it.

Kerbal has a steep learning curve, but once you hit major milestones (get into orbit, crash into Mun, land on Mun, etc.) it feels so good. Definitely about to dive back into this.

Don't you need fuel ducts unlocked for that?

Yeah, I need to get back into Kerbal as well. I had a whole elaborate Mun Base built, complete with a hangar for my Mun Buggy, as well as multiple space stations to act as fuel depots: 3 around Kerbin at various altitudes, and one around the Mun. And then they went and updated the game, and overnight my save game became incompatible with the latest version, and all that progress was gone. It comes with the territory of playing an unfinished game I guess, but I just couldn't bear the thought of starting from scratch. Maybe now enough time has passed that I can finally pick up the pieces...

Did they ever add multiplayer to this thing? I know they said at one point that they were exploring the idea.

@vinny: Yes. Fuel ducts are incredibly important and required for asparagus staging. From my testing in career mode, it doesn't take very long to unlock them either. You can get them unlocked before you've launched any vessel out of the atmosphere. Once you got those fuel ducts, you're pretty golden.

Can't believe that new Kerbal survived the splashdown. He basically just pulled the "right before the elevator crashes" trick, and it saved his ass.

Love KSP, but I've been a bit intimidated by all the new stuff, so the campaign seems like a perfect way to ease back into it. Then I can focus on all the basic accomplishments that lead up to craziness like orbital rendezvous, space stations, and landing on the new planets.

Straight up one of my top 5 games of the past few years, and the best game that has ever been on Early Access period. I'm sure parts of this will be painful for me to watch, but I enjoy watching people learn and struggle. Fantastic game.

I have a multiplayer server (there's a multiplayer mod). Is that something any duders would be interested in playing around in? I'll make a new thread perhaps.

KSP Is an amazing game, i'm a huge fan, this was a much better QL then the first one, vinny knew what he was doing! Which is no small feat in KSP.

I can't believe he got out and pushed, that was hilarious.

I guess I just assumed this day would never actually come

Its like that part of reddit where they all pretend to be widget hobbyists or something and never admit that the stuff they're talking about is complete nonsense. It's art basically.
