The San Antonio Missions baseball team is currently the Double A affiliate of the San Diego Padres. For the longest time they use to be affiliated with the Los Angeles Dodgers then the Seattle Mariners.

This was pretty grand of an experience. Yeah I miss Vinny but thought many things in this QL were amazing in their own way. If I can't have Vinny and Jeff this is a fine alternative.

Realized near the end of this QL that this game doesn't even render edge-to-edge. The heck? Is the performance that dodgy that they have to reduce the space on the screen the game takes up to get the framerate consistent?

Dan has filled Vinny's hole completely. Yep.

Good Quick Look! They had fun but earnestly tried and it was fun to watch. I like Jeff watching baseball. Cool to me how he just randomly watches so many games from a variety of teams.

I live in the city and I guess I never learned how to grocery shopping, because 9 bags sounds like a lot... but I guess normal people buy meat and freeze it down so it'll last long and not just consume it within a day or two, like I do.

Now, I love Dan. Have since Game Informer days. He was great on this. Great Quick Look in the sense it was entertaining to listen to, as someone said earlier like a short podcast mildly about baseball. But did Dan Ryckert, a week after going to Wrestlemania and Monday Night Raw where he was prominently show on television holding signs just call people that bring signs to games/events assholes? And I totally agree with him.

I'm disappointed none of the batters tried to punch the pitcher that keeps throwing the ball at them.

as a baseball Quick Look progresses the probability that Jeff will try to get thrown out of the game for beaning pitchers approaches one.

I would have liked to see Jeff's reaction if they were called the Trolley Frogs. And they'll probably suck this year, especially if Refsnyder gets the call up to the Bronx.

Having grown up in Kansas City at the same time as Dan, it is SHOCKING how similar he is to many of my friends growing up. Sometimes I have to remind myself that I don't actually know him he's that much like my old buddies.

I'm sure the game offers a big value with the franchise mode and everything, but I could never get into them. Then again, televised baseball bores me to tears so I guess it's just me?

Yeah 9 bags sounds like a massive amount. I do one trip to the local market once a week and fill up 2-3 bags, and then I buy a fresh loaf of bread maybe twice a week. I can't comprehend how a single, or even two humans, could go through nine bags of food in a week.

This is one of the few games that makes me slightly regret choosing XB1 over PS4.

The Royals did for a long time have a minor league affiliate named after the MLB franchise. The AAA affiliate for like 40 years was the Omaha Royals, then for 2 years then became the Omaha Golden Spikes but that name was so disliked they became the Royals again for 10 more years until they finally became the Storm Chasers.

So permitting Dan did not work for the Royals for the years of 1999-2001 or 2011- to present then the team he was covering most definitely had a very important minor league affiliate named after the main club.

Man, I honestly would love a weekly feature of Jeff & Dan playing video game baseball and bantering about random bullshit for an hour.

@Jeff - Hit Dog was Mo Vaughn. I remember having a Nerf style foam bat and ball that said Hit Dog and had his signature on it.

You know - they could do it ALT+F1 style: maybe they sit down and play out a short game as two of the teams playing that weekend, and then just talk about the comings and goings in baseball and so on. Lots of opportunity to bring other baseball fans in the office in, that kind of thing.

That could be a hell of a lot of fun!

in football you get docked a timeout if you fail a challenge. timeouts are only refilled at the half.
