confounds me that someone like Jeff takes the time/effort to acknowledge/learn what sort of depth and nuance is present in a game like this while also completely disregarding the same potential of a Smash Bros type brawler. he has quite the hard on for traditional TF games, god bless him -_-

Matter of fact, I believe he wants to brainwash everyone into liking anime. It's all part of his masterplan. Don't get fooled, he's been slowing tricking us into watching anime this whole time. That whole "anime is for jerks" thing? It's just red herring to trick us. Jeff Gerstman is spreading his Anime Chemtrails on us.

That being said, I remember Kikokugai being kinda cool when I totally didn't play it many years ago. I have a feeling it probably doesn't hold up well though.

That Saya stage is awful and disgusting. This game looks fun though. I'm into Sonico being a cat version of Olimar.

Much like Dengeki Bunko, most of the characters I actually care about are just assists (Akane). Bummer. Also, I don't see what makes this any better than any other anime fighters (i.e. Guilty Gear) but, whatever.

Not gonna lie, I didn't predict Jason being the "anime guy" especially with Austen on the payroll.

This actually looks pretty fun, it seems like a pretty accessible fighter too. May have to check it out.

My favorite anime fighters were those Bleach fighting games for the DS, made by Treasure. Lots of characters and different playstyles, and you could play against someone else through Download Play with just a single cart. It was my favorite fighting game until I got into SF4 and got better at fighters in general.

I want to make ah-nime happen.

Also, I recognize many of these girls from Saltybet. I assume they've been in other fighting games before.

Fighters are my favorite genre, I have been playing them for most of my life, and Melee is still my favorite fighter of all time. As someone who has played most fighting games seriously at different points I can definitely say that SSBM is quite possibly the hardest fighter I have ever played to get really good at. Where technical skill in most games revolves around your moves, in Melee it revolves around your movement. One technical mistake in Melee can result in an instant death in the form of an SD. For a simple looking game, Melee is oddly advanced. Melee probably doesn't appeal to Jeff because of how Marvelesque it is in its insanity. And that is something I can totally understand.

Note that I'm talking about Melee. When you say Smash Bros type brawler, I think about Brawl or Sm4sh and I think about how boring those are to play on a "serious" level. Those games are too slow with a very limited amount of knowledge or tech skill required. I think that Smash isn't a great fighting game series, but Melee is a great fighting game.

I am so glad we live in an era where a company known for eroge and visual novels can have a fighting game made by a studio that makes a series of games with only female characters. I'm even more glad that this can come out outside of Japan.

I want this game because if it means an actual translation of Full Metal Deamon: Muramasa then I'll buy ten copies.
