Quick Look: Pineapple Smash Crew

Saw this up on Steam earlier today and didn't think anything of it, this quicklook has completely changed my mind though. Looks pretty good for a quick blast now and again.

I remember going on Dance 360 like 8 years ago and saw the Pineapple Smash Crew just make the stage their world.

Given the music I'm waiting for a preponderance of Mega Man nods.

Loving these Space Marines with added swag.

I hope the variety in environments changes later in the game because after a few hours the ship environment will get stale.

This totally reminds me of Cannon Fodder which is a good thing. Especially the 'replace dead dudes with new recruits thing'.

Well, the Pineapple Space Marines remind of the character designs in Megaman Legends.

I appreciate the Starbug on the main menu screen. Any game with a Red Dwarf reference is alright in my book.

This game is really getting around in the video preview circles.

This quick look was worth it for Ghoul voice around the middle.

Ghoul voice brings back so many memories.

Looks like a great game too, with some fantastic music.

Pretty sure I noticed a Chucklevision reference in there. That's a first for games.

Looks cool although from the description on the steam page it doesn't look like there's a whole lot of content there to justify the price. With just 3 mission types a handful of weapons and whatnot. If it had a bit more content I'd pick it up but as it is I'll wait for it to be cheaper during the spring sale.

Reminds me a bit of a more complex version of cannon fodder. Edit: just as I say that, there is a direct cannon fodder reference with Jools and Jops (who are some of the first new recruits that you get in CF if you lose anyone).

On top of Cannon Fodder, this reminds me of some Genesis game I used to play a lot of, and I can't think of the name of it for the life of me. If anyone remembers I'll send them a quarter or something.

As someone who bought this right away....you're completely right. I don't regret buying it full price, but it should definitely be a five dollar game.

In case anyone doesn't know, "Pineapple" is/was British military slang for "grenade". To quote Call of Duty 2: "Fancy a pineapple Jerry?!"

It is less and less steam sales and more and more GB QLs that are making me spend money on steam....
