Quick Look: Red Faction: Guerrilla Re-Mars-Stered

If I've learned anything from wrestling it's that a sledgehammer is an effective weapon. Might as well use it to start a revolution!

Sit back and enjoy as the Giant Bomb team takes an unedited look at the latest video games.

Ok so, the question for me is.. what does Crackdown have to do different from this game to pass as a good modern game? (Or even Just Cause.. but I think the path for the later games is actually fairly different.) Does it matter if it has a compelling story or just that the destructibility is greater and more systematic? Does it need variety in activities, or can it just be exploding things and killing people? Do you need a management sim built in.. city builder?

lol, I haven't played either series, so I'm just curious.

I just played this last year and I'm tempted to give it another go. If you want a game where you smash buildings with a hammer and explosives to see them crumble: this is a true treat. Be warned though that the later missions in normal can get surprisingly difficult! I remember you: snipers nested in a slanted building.

Really disappointed that the framerate can't keep up in a game this old.

This makes me feel like time is passing so fast --- I still have the sealed PS3 copy sitting here, and I know its old, but I keep saying, "I should get around to this some weekend".... Its 9 years old now.... So many games I will die never playing. Looking at my own mortality...
