I was ready to buy this game...until I read through the Steam reviews. Seriously, these mobile games ported to PC have got to stop already. Surprised how limited this is. Glad I bought Cities: Skylines to tide me over.

First Civ: Beyond Earth sucked and now this. Depressing.

I won't be fooled into buying any more Sid Meier's after Beyond Earth, and I'm sad that Firaxis isn't backing a Jake Solomon's XCOM sequel. That's all I have to say on the matter :(

It's a boring, bland, unfun piece of mobile crap.

That Vinny's Dad story makes me want a "Keepin' it Caravella" podcast with Vinny and his Dad. Then Paul Ryckert and Monsuier Caravella can have some kind of Dad-off.

I liked Beyond Earth well enough, but this does not seem particularly compelling.

Easy pass.

Give me a proper Civilization game, or even better: the sequel to XCOM. I'd even take another Enemy Within style expansion. Or something new of course, if you guys have a good idea.

But no more of this half assed crap please.

Eh, Beyond Earth was probably alright if you somehow skipped Civilization 5. Considering how similar they were and that Civ 5 was pretty great.

That being said I last played Civ 5 in 2010 and was still burned out by Beyond Earth after one completed game.

I feel that I am completely okay with not playing any Civilization style game until I read from a lot reviewers that the diplomacy system is not completely useless.

I've been enjoying this game. The lack of proper PC settings is a bummer, but it's not a crime against humanity like people are making it out to be.

Makes me want to reinstall Sins of a Solar Empire.

This is a game in the vein of Sid Meier's Ace Patrol. Doesn't anyone remember that these games existed? Basically the only way to cross over Ace Patrol and Civ:BE. People need to stop comparing it to Civ games.

I don't quite understand what people find so dreadfully offensive about this game. It seems like a fun, easy-going, pick-up and put down game. Definitely geared more towards iPad users, but what's wrong with that? Although price could always be a deterrent...

Also the "Now Playing" Gamespot did with Sid Meier made it seem like there were actually some interesting design choices and gameplay mechanics that maybe Alex didn't quite get into. Especially the interaction with Beyond Earth

Seems alright for a strategy-lite coffee break game. I dug Ace Patrol too (though they did miss a trick not calling it Sid Meier's Pilots) so it's most likely a decent sale buy.

I had (still have, somewhere) tons of G1 Transformers, and Metroplex was one of my favorites. Left it at my next door friend's house one day because he wanted to keep playing with it when I had to leave. Came back to it broken in half at the rotating waist, with Cheeto stains all over it. Never lent any out again. Fuck that kid.

Well, first they have to make a spiritual successor, a weird cheap mishmash of Civ and XCom, and then maybe they'll make Alpha Centauri.

Who am I kidding, they'll just make Civ 6.

I hate mobile ports no matter how good thay are the only reason there ported it to milk as much as they can from what ever crap there selling. Sorry Mr Sid Meier but no sale

Hate on mobile as much as you want, but there's really no reason why a turn based strategy/4X style game can't function on a mobile platform as long as it has the horse power to run it.

At least unlike Beyond Earth there's more than one planet.

Conceptually there's nothing wrong with either game, but I guess they can be much more and fail to live up to expectations is the only issue they have.

He's a big 'un, largest Figure in the series ever for over two decades at almost 2 feet tall. I never had him but I knew kids who did, rich kids. That thing was crazy expensive.

fwiw Gotta admit I was not a big fan of Wreck-Gar initially, didn't like his toy which seemed kinda lame. I liked the fact he had an axe, but his alt mode space junk motorcycle felt and looked cheap compared to the older diecast Toys. I did grow to appreciate his quirky way of talking after a while though.

Here's why you shouldn't hate all mobile ports on steam: some people have tablets or convertibles that run windows, not ios or android. It's nice for great games that are more in the mobile ethos to be available for that. What are they gonna use, the windows store? ;)

This game doesn't look great though, kinda has a "my first 4x game" feel. It's not elegant enough to hit the HitmanGo zone where the game is great regardless of platform.
