Patrick, you're the man for taking a look at this DLC when no one else would. Metro Last Light is my favorite game of the year so far, which is why this DLC makes me quite sad that it isn't up to the same quality as the full game. Never have I felt so many emotions from a game this year. There's even the slight chance that this game has tremendously helped me with my arachnophobia.

The second one Really is fun, but those other two....

One person Quicklooks are kind of depressing. Patrick should grab a family member next time.

Solo quicklooks will probably never be entertaining, but Patrick did an admirable job of making it not boring.

Thanks Patrick for the QL, but they're never as entertaining as 2 or more people QL's. It kind of reminds me of the beginning of GB. You can watch, let's say, Skate 2 QL that Jeff did and would understand what I mean. There were some pretty funny parts there, but not nearly as funny as it could've been. Maybe Patrick could try to skype chat with someone else while playing the game if he wants to do QL's? You know, the same way they did when they made that one video about Brad playing Rogue Legacy a few days ago?

That can be interpreted in multiple ways, I realize, so just take it as you will. If you know what I mean.

Anyway, what I really mean is, there is a good reason why Giant Bomb hasn't done one man Quick Looks since 2008.

@everettescott: Yea, that is just a bit weird. They could "easily" skype someone in for the quick look while doing a private live stream or something. Either way, a quick look is supposed to be informative, not entertaining. Just happens that most quick looks are also entertaining due to the banter between two or more people. This was very informative. It told me NOT to get this DLC.

I talk a little bit more about my thought process in today's Worth Reading that I'm working on, but don't expect a whole hell of a lot of Quick Looks out of me. I'm simply experimenting with the format, and 99% of them will come out of the San Francisco office. I'm simply trying to fill some gaps, and look at things that have slipped through the cracks.

Idk if you watched Brad's live stream of Rogue Legacy, but that's essentially what they did

The problem with that is that the live stream is delayed by about 3-5 seconds, so it wouldn't go as well as you might think

If Vinny were skyping in, by the time he saw what happened in Patricks game to make a joke about it would already be too late

I feel Patrick was a bit hard on this DLC, I thought it was pretty good. Oh, and you're supposed to pump up the railgun, it does way more damage that way.

There was a few one man quick looks I remember from the beginning of the site - when Jeff did the Too Human quick look it was just him talking, and a few others that I cannot recall off the top of my head were just one person.

Are solo quicklooks as funny? No, probably by virtue of not having a separate personality to riff off of; but, at the same time, quick looks also serve as a way to create content about a game, and there is no explicit agreement that says they have to be funny.

one man quick look is fine, weird but fine

that first part is the most uninspired wave based survival mode ever. It's a shooting gallery. @originalyellow is right the minigun is so unsatisfying on a audio level. Feels like it's silenced.

One person QL's can be entertaining (I know Totalbiscuit's videos aren't really QL's but it demonstrates how you can do it). Patrick was very informative but yeah, not as entertaining. It's difficult to fill on your own unless you have experience of doing it, ala radio.

You should invite someone to QL these games with you, Patrick. Maybe through a twitch + Skype setup.

One person quick looks are fine...for good games. The second and third sections looked interesting, the first just seemed like a giant turret sequence wtf.

Yay Metro, yay Patrick, Boo one-man QL, Boo that first level. It's hard to like a blunt turret section as a whole level, even less so when you are playing as a Nazi (even the odd Metro Nazis). I remember Brad doing a solo QL for Banjo Kazooie when GB was new and feeling it was vastly inferior. Hell, many QLs aren't even about the games, it's the dialogue. Hell again, GB is more the people than the games at this point, to a degree.

I don't mind the one man quick look at all. Maybe I'm weird because I don't have some ignorant, ultra specific rules about how I think a website should create its content.

this is not the first solo quick look!

I thought funny quick looks was like 90% of why the site exists.

Personally, I would categorize Patrick's Solo Quick Looks and the weird video stuff he's been putting up under some sort of "Scoops" banner just for organization's sake, but I also know that it won't happen since this is Giant Bomb, home of the Video Thing and a show that used to run on Wednesdays that consisted of at least two people discussing what to call it at all times.

You're doing great but you should really call them Scoop Looks.
