@murdoc_: I can't stand Call of Duty and yet I'm digging the hell out of this game. It does come down to the "feel" like you said, and I'm sure modern CoD has stolen enough mechanics from Titanfall at this point that they will seem similar at first glance. However, this is one of the best controlling shooters I've played in a long time - the sliding, wall-running, jumping, aiming... everything feels smooth and responsive. I highly doubt any other FPS of this ilk has achieved what Respawn have here.

Edit: holy shit I didn't realize they basically made an octagon 1v1 mode.

Last Titan Standing seems like a really cool mode. but other than that this game doesn't do much for me.

@murdoc_: The campaign goes to places in a pretty self aware way, and makes kind of clear that is not pretending being anything else and the multiplayer AI is suppose to be cannon fodder

This game is like a first-person Vanquish, and I love every minute of it.

Is Troy Baker the only voice actor available?

I know, right? They should at least try and call Matt Mercer :)

This game looks great. Silky smooth frame rate and snappy combat goes a long way to overcome the slightly generic design.

Boy, Jeff sure loves his Call of Duty and Call of Duty-likes.

This looks totally competent and I'm sure a lot of it is in the "feel" of it (like he commended Destiny on in the past) but 5 star good? Generic scifi environments, brutally stupid AI, and while it has solid art direction (ie: generic scifi) the rendering, visual detail, etc... looks like a multiplayer game.

I don't get it, but then again, I never "got" call of duty, so this just isn't for me.

lmfao it plays nothing like call of duty ahahahaha

Is it just me or is the default gamma value on the PC version way too high? Even turning the slider all the way down isn't enough, game looks really washed out.

@dharmabum: Yeah, the feel thing is tricky to communicate... like I conceptually get it, but hard for someone to understand it without trying it and it's hard to try it with out paying x amount of dollars.

It's a shame, because it looks competent and if it feels amazing, I'd love to try it, but I'm not going to throw 60 bucks at something I really could potentially hate. I miss demos.

@mub Might be true, but from a person who hasn't played titan fall, it looks literally exactly like the last and new Call of Duty. From a gameplay/loop stand point and a conceptual visual standpoint as well... if you showed me two pieces of footage without telling me what was what and left out the titans, I couldn't tell you which game was which.

I loved the campaign and I couldn't stop playing it, beat it over the weekend. It felt like if Half-Life, COD and Vanquish had a 3 way. Great level design, awesome punchy shooting, and cool scifi weapons. Did a bit of multiplayer and it's okay, you die so damn fast. Not sure how much of that I will play. I may just keep playing the campaign over.

Just you. My default gamma was okay, turned it down a bit and it was perfect. Not washed out at all.

It's a futritisic military FPS from a studio founded by the co-creators of Medal of Honor and Call of Duty, to say it's a Call of Duty-like is not ridiculous.

As much as I enjoyed Titanfall 2, it doesn't quite hold the same special place in my heart that the first game did. Something about it being MP only and being able to combine all the different Titan chassis with different abilities/weapons was just immensely more appealing to me.
