That moment when he rode the lift up, the dude spotted him and said "Scram" and Jeff just capped him in the fucking face...lol. Great stuff.

I am in love with this game. The cars feel awesome, the explosions are so freaking satisfying, the hacking and being a massive asshole to citizens is a good damn time.

I'm playing on a top end PC in 1920x1080 and I'm pretty sure it is running 80-100 frames a second. I've seen absolutely zero slow down and it has been the most stellar experience and my hype is justified. I love the animations and the little details. They put a LOT of love into this game and people are dismissing it just because we got GTA 5 and Saint's Row 4 in such a short time span. People are forgetting where we have came with video games and this is a technological marvel. I can not wait to play more!

So I'm actually watching this now, and it seems like Jeff is in one of his 'grumpy teenager' moods where he just kinda mumbles in an annoyed sounding way to let you know that he is resentfully playing this game, and makes no attempt to try and get into the game or come up with something meaningful to say. Really poor in my opinion.

Thanks for the quick look review. Enjoying the game, not watching the quick look.

Jeff's negative attitude made me turn this off half way through... :( should have given it to Vinny to review, played a couple hours today, really fun so far, and great presentation.

Bums me out the music selection is terrible. That's one of my favorite things about open-world games. Then, again this is Ubisoft. -__-

Jeff isn't even negative in this video...? He sounds like he's having an average time with an average open-world game. I don't know about you, but I don't come to this site for some artificially excited Mr. Caffeine personality who doesn't offer negative thoughts about games because they've had lots of hype behind them.

Man, the cults around this game are super weird. There's one group that endlessly casts Watch Dogs as some sort of horrible monstrosity, and then another group that pounces on people that say even middling things about the game.

When you look at that mission he did near the end you can see all sorts of fun options at your disposal. Problem is Jeff has never been that kind of gamer. He just runs and guns and if he can't do that effectively then he's probably not gonna have a good time. The game looks pretty fun, and he just seemed super down on it for minor reasons.

@alexandersheen: I agree! I loooove Jeff hes funny as hell and smart, but I disagree with his views on games most times. He hates Red Dead Redemption.

Thats okay! The best way to use reviews is to learn a reviewers viewpoint on things, and discern from that.

Getting really tired of this trying to be batman voice on every male protagonist, just sounds corny and forced as hell. Game looks ok, but I guess people were hoping for something much more after the hype of it's initial unveil.

While the game is by no means perfect, I'm not sure what people were expecting from the hacking? Would it be preferable if hacking required a little mini-game for every little thing you did?

So, this is certainly not the scale of game anybody would do on the Vita after the numbers it's been selling, but I think I prefer these kinds of open world games on handhelds. The handheld GTA games were some of the best in the series, and I'd think the 3DS and Vita would have systems that something hacking-oriented like this could make alright use of, like the Near/Street Pass kind of stuff. Assassin's Creed Liberation used your GPS location for your "headquarters" in the online mode, and it would feel much more at home in something like this.

I don't know, I guess these days I kinda prefer slightly more focused experiences on consoles/PC's, while I want to play these sandbox/jump-in-and-do-random-stuff-for-15-minutes kind of games on the go or in bed.

Also, while the licensed music doesn't sound great, the original soundtrack you could hear in the background during that stealth car sequence was pretty good.

From the E3 demo i thought this was a different kind of game, not sure what kind but it just seemed more exciting. I haven't seen or heard anything of the game since that demo and was really dissapointed when from the QL i saw it looks like a average open world game.

It's disappointing that this didn't turn out at least a little bit better. I mean I expected it to be an average open world game with some simple hacking mechanics slapped on when I bought it, but even so I find it boring and kind of sloppy. The multiplayer modes in particular are a complete mess, and that was the most interesting part for me leading up to the game's release.

It's fine if you like the game from what you've seen, but I don't. And I'm not about to plunk down $60 to "play the game first" to find out for myself. That's what these quick look videos are for. Sorry you can't fathom the possibility that people might not be as excited for this game as you are, but hey, what do I know? I'm just a brainless hipster, right?

I hope I didn't sound super aggressive I'm just surprised at how many people seem to take issue with the fact that hacking is "just a button press" as opposed to I don't know, 3 button presses.

Also I don't know why Jeff said he doesn't think this looks graphically impressive. As a PC gamer I'm impressed to see something this good looking on a console - in fact I went and played GTA4 on 360 today and apart from running at 20fps average it looked like dogshit, especially compared to this.

It would've been pretty funny if the first time you hacked something it was super complicated and then someone jokes about that taking way too long and being frustrating and you just got the ability to then just hack with 1 button.

@sleepinglesson: I agree, all of the online modes are really fun. Too bad this game got such a bad rep, it's actually pretty fucking great. I noticed some of the quick looks are filmed while the guy playing and showing the game is new to it himself, which of course does have its value, but at the same time results in videos like this, when Jeff has no clue how chases work with the active split-second like takedown system for example.

So, yeah, I'm gonna go play more Watch Dogs now. Call me crazy but I like it. Odd concept I know: playing a game I enjoy despite reviews, but here we are.

I actually went and bought this. And I'm having a pretty good time.

Is it the best game ever - No.

Is it revolutionising the genre - No.

But it's a lot more fun and solid than this QL suggests and there is a lot more fun to be had with online interactions and invasions than 'what a f#%king waste of time', as quoted from this QL, seems to imply.

Jeff gives off the impression that he'd rather be doing anything but play this game and record this QL. And in my opinion that's a shame and suggest a really negative bias and jaded attitude towards this game. If he was just having a bad day maybe someone else could have done the QL ?

It's unusual for a GB team member to have such an approach to doing a QL, which are normally fun, informative and I have relied on 100% up to now to confirm or infirm my purchasing intentions...

Ehhh grumpy Jeff strikes again. Get him a Mountain Dew. Watch Dogs isn't revolutionary, but it's still a solid sandbox style of game. If you enjoy Assassins Creed, GTA, or the Mafia series, you'll enjoy this. The story is decent, the characters aren't stellar, but the actual game play is enjoyable. I, however, would probably wait until the price drops a bit.

I'm starting to think that Jeff is tired of open world games or something. He seemed less than interested in playing it, and he sounded disinterested in the podcast. I actually quite enjoyed this game. The combat felt pretty tight, I like the characters and some aspects of the story, once you get used to the driving it gets fun.
