This series has actually made me want to play Spelunky. Huh. how about that.

Trust me, Patrick would never have gotten beyond 4-1 on daily. That level was pure evil with little to no bombs.

And killing enemies and setting off traps that aren't in your way is only unnecessary risk.

Whipping pots also a bad idea.

Picking up idols in mines an even worse idea.

Before trying Ghostmining or simply: Ghosting, you should probably practice killing shopkeepers in shops. Since you will want to Ghost the vaults and before doing so, you might as well rob all the shops to get better items to do it, since you are going to aggro them anyway.

Ive been playing spelunky every night since this started. Spelunky is pretty great! Stil think BOI does something similar, but a lot better, but I've played that a bunch already.

I like a pump up speech at the title theme, very fitting

You really need to stop dismissing the mattock! You can both use it as a bomb substitute until it breaks, and mine for the gems/gold that you can see. At a minimum you can rack up like a quick 20K.

And there is ALWAYS a mattock buried at the bottom of the snake pit, but you have to bomb it out - just like the shotgun under Ash's grave.

My daily run sucked so much today. But yesterday was amazing. Patrick and his friends only made it to 1-2. I managed to make it to the ice caves AND the temple for the first time ever. So thanks @patrickklepek for getting me back into this awesome game.

I'm excited to see the run today. I made an incredibly stupid mistake that ended me way earlier than I hoped, but maybe I did beat Klepek today? That would make it ALL better.

Why buy a mystery box in the black market? :(

Patrick, you really need to start sacrificing everybody that you can. there were a bunch of super easy ones that you didn't do. It's waaaayyy worth it

Also there is always a mattock at the bottom of the snake pit, the reason you didn't see them, is you didn't have the sunglasses or the mask thing which enables you to see hidden objects

Does anyone else get really bothered by how Patrick treats the dog? I know it's just a game but it still really rubs me the wrong way when I see the poor pup die

Dark spider nest levels are THE WOOOOORST. Except for maybe dark Temple levels.

Actually, archaeologists are notorious alcoholics. Though, spelunkers aren't necessarily archaeologists, but this one sure dresses like one.

Indiana Jones was most certainly an archaeologist.

Wow, that daily challenge death was something else.

Another handful of tips from watching you play:

1. You canʼt see hidden items without the Spectacles or Udjat Eye. (e.g. the mattock at the bottom of a snake pit—there is always one there)

2. Just like thereʼs always a mattock at the bottom of a snake pit, thereʼs always a jetpack behind the psychic aliens in the Ice Caves.

3. You canʼt hurt enemies with your whip when theyʼre stunned. (weapons and spikes will do damage though)

4. Throwing:

• • You can throw the “damsel” at enemies without hurting it.
  • You can also throw the torch on dark levels.
  • And you can throw items at a downward angle if youʼre jumping.

5. In the Jungle/Ice Caves, maybe try throwing a damsel on the sticky red thing and hanging out on it for a while…

P.S. SACRIFICE EVERYTHING. Damsels, stunned enemies, and corpses. Itʼs worth the time and effort.

Yes, he's right. You can only see the mattock at the bottom of the snake pit if you have the xray specs or wadjet. Otherwise you just bomb it out.

Would eventually love to see some ghosting but you should master using the mattock to dig out the gems first.
