After hearing during the Dark Souls II talk earlier that Patrick made it to Hell I've been impatiently waiting all day for this!

Today was a pretty impressive series of runs. If Patrick didn't think he could top himself yesterday, I'm afraid of what he'll be thinking tomorrow =P

The Patrick sprite would be perfected if it had an eye patch.

I think most of the chat thought he was somehow going to botch the Hell run. Somehow he figured it out. Next task will be beating Yama, then going for a $1 million run.

Nicely done Patrick, that was awesome!

That first seed was hella good. There was some patrick luck thrown in there too but he played well today.

Very nice runs, Patrick. It's been clear he has been learning a lot from all of these streams which is just great to see.

I do have one request though, @patrickklepek: Please learn to set your audio levels better so that it's not so painfully loud when you yell into the mic. Or at the very least, yell into the mic less. Back away before you yell, yell away from the mic, or even just stand up so you're not directly in front of the mic when you yell. It really isn't a fun time when we're sitting back enjoying your run when suddenly the audio levels spike because you did something awesome. We don't want you to not have fun, but it hurts, Patrick. It hurts.

Easy shopkeeper kill tip: stand at the item furthest from the shopkeeper (4th item) press the jump button and the bomb button at the same time. He will run at you and you will land on the shopkeepers head every time. Then you can either grab him and throw him so that he wakes up and runs into the bomb as it explodes or you can try and grab his shotgun and blast him real quick. It is not that hard and after a little practice is pretty consistent.

Welp…I just bought a copy of Spelunky.

Still working on killing Olmec for the first time! I get to the caves easily, but the temple still murders me every time!

Ghost mining is the most boring thing to watch someone do in Spelunky.

@hailinel: It can also be the most boring thing to do in the game. I don't have the patience for ghostrunning unless the setup is prime like those trapped shopkeepers in the caves during his runs. Even then there's a good chance I just won't bother. My scores always suffer because of it but bleh.

I cannot even make it to caves this week... I'm getting worse the more I play. So sad. It's basic platforming mistakes and misjudging enemies. My bat tech stinks to high heaven.

Will need to put my face in spelunky, will probably do it the way Southpark did with Mel Gibson, and same with the Pug, he will become Doge!

I beat olmec for the first time today but didn't get the achievement because I tried to take a screenshot and the game crashed, absolutely shattered.

PATRICK IS GOOD AT GAMES! Seriously, those were two really amazing runs.

How are you taking screenshots? Via Steam? I'd recommend disabling Steam screenshots and using FRAPS instead.

Awesome run(s). I missed the first one live, but caught the tail end of the second one.

I finally beat Olmec in the Steam version today for the first time! It's the second time I've beaten him, with the first time being on the XBLA version last year. Between that version and the Steam one, I've probably played the game over 700 times.

I guess now I can concentrate on getting to Hell like Patrick.

In the 1-31 daily challenge I died within 30 seconds when I misjudged a jump and fell on spikes. Alas.

edit: I hope Patrick makes use of that bomb & rope method for the shopkeeper next time. It is very useful. It's not foolproof, though! If you pick up the jetpack or cape and climb up the rope, the shopkeeper will go berserk on you for some reason.

@beachthunder: yep, it was steam, I was going to put the game down after I beat olmec, I know I did it but I'd still like to have that achievement as proof.

@patrickklepek if you feel like the spelunky adventure is coming to a close, a couple of games to consider that are lots of fun to watch and you'd be able to play regularly and improve as you go:

I started watching towards the end of the live stream. I thought I was going crazy that the bomb indicator had a face just like Giant Bomb's mascot. Didn't realize it was custom art, lol.

I am honestly impressed with how well you've improved in such a short time. Making it all the way through Hell on your first try is rather extraordinary. You should be very proud of that.

Your custom player character looks great. That is an especially nice touch for these features.
