Haha, a game with Xbox marketing and they're still playing it on Playstation.

I am staring at a play button in origin but I'm gonna watch you first.

14.99 to play this and need for speed heat was the right choice this month

@bradThat cube is literally from the Star Wars Rebels series, so yeah, it definitely is Ewan McGregor.

I wonder if Brad would find this game's delving into the Empire's takeover after Order 66 if he'd watched Star Wars: Rebels because there's a lot of world lore about that buried in that series.

Interesting to use showers as a measurement for game time. I like it.

I wish they'd stop saying it's framey and "and this is the performance mode!" like that always means it looks better. Performance modes usually are uncapped framerates with a lower resolution. The frame rate stutter in a performance mode is usually caused by an uncapped framerate.

I'm only half way through so maybe they will, but I wish they'd show the 'quality' or whatever it's called mode because the framerate, while lower, locked at 30, might be more solid with less stutter. Guess I'll have to wait for Digital Foundry to find out if it's more playable that way.

Edit: Oh wow, some of Brad's descriptions of issues near the end makes me think a locked framerate won't help with some of them.

While stories about Jedi dudes are the most boring types of stories one could possibly tell in the SW universe, this looks well made and I loved the campaign of Titanfall 2. I just hope this game doesn't turn into a retelling of The Force Unleashed for the new canon.I

I see they're going with a droid helped that hangs out on your back, just like Battlefront 2.

I really appreciate how thorough @brad is with simple elements of gameplay and in this case, jank and then digging into really deep nuance in the videos he's driving. Really great stuff here and the classic high bar that this site gives big releases.

The sequels have mentioned the prequels, Brad. The Last Jedi explicitly mentioned the events of the prequels.

@synthesis_landale: haven't read the spoiler tag but rebels is some of the best star wars writing in years.

PC has some weird slowdown on frame transitions that even people with high-end rigs are experiencing. I've read increasing the framerate cap to something higher than 60 has helped some people. Personally I had a weird crash every 15 minutes until I disabled some Windows on-screen keyboard setting, that apparently some people are having.

Other than some weird issues, it seems to run very well, even on my GTX 970 with everything turned up.

2019 sure has been quite the year for cool games with glaring performance issues. :/

SPOILERS 3 MIN IN! ABOUT A CERTAIN CHARACTER IN THE SW UNIVERSE NOT BEING DEAD!

Playing this at 4k and "Epic" (ultra) with just film grain off and I've had no slow down or bugs yet, only thing I noticed was a 1-2 frame delay when getting achievements, but that isn't out of the ordinary.

The game is absolutely stunning, I had to turn the brightness down though because it seems pretty high from the get go.

This game is something else. Highly recommend people play it! Really reminds me of Rogue One (the last good Star Wars movie since 1983) and the world building and aesthetic is just top notch.

I just am floored by the level of detail in this game. The story and cutscenes are actually good? What the hell? How is a star wars game good?

Cool, I'll wait I guess for better performance.

Nothing better than watching the Quick Look while waiting for the download to finish. Super excited for a proper Singleplayer Star Wars campaign.

With "The Mandalorian" coming out as well, Star Wars is having kind of a run these days (which, from what has been told, will end with the next movie coming out...)

After playing this myself I would say this is more like a star wars meets tomb raider.

I thought I was fucking insane and was the only one that noticed that same lady has shown up face/voice capped in both Modern Warfare and Jedi: Fallen Order as well as Wolfenstein II. Thanks Jeff

All she needs at this point is a character role in a Ubisoft game and that'll be all the major third-party publishers under her belt

@thrillhouse17: You mean Obi Wan? Not if you watched the very first Star Wars movie ever to be released. This game is placed between Episode 3 and 4 if I am not wrong

Really wish they would have done this on the X1X to see if it had the same technical issues that were mentioned. I would assume stuff like T-posing is still present, but the framerate/pop-in stuff might be improved.

I like the Souls series like most people, but it seems like almost every developer is now making Souls based action-adventure games and its getting kind of overwhelming. But I'll probably still check it out since Brad claims a lot of Canon revelations happen in the game and it has a good story.

Phew, good to hear that the PC version is way more solid. This is one of those games that doesn't do anything that truly excites me or stands out on first glance ,but i know that i would like going through it. I'm not completely sold on the cartoony character look though. Like in that spaceship cutscene, it seemed like the lipsync was off.

Rogue One is the quite possibly the best Star Wars movie.

Do they mention how the game performs on a base PS4? If it runs poorly on a PS4 Pro, I'm kind of nervous how it'll run on a base PS4. I hope it's not another Control situation where I don't even buy the game because it runs so poorly.

Skip ahead a good 10-15 minutes into this video. I don't know why but Brad just kinda runs around and doesn't really get started saying or doing much until then. Maybe it was just me.

The idea that a Jedi student would somehow learn the ability to FREEZE TIME before they learn how to nudge a rock is hilarious to me.

It's a bummer about the performance. I'm also not a huge fan of the way it looks. The character models look weird. Like they couldn't decide if they wanted a realistic-look or go more for the Genndy Tartakovsky Clone Wars aesthetic.

I'm also more off-put by not being able to dismember human enemies than I thought I would be. I mean, the movies never shy away from hacking off limbs and heads and I've never figured out why the games shy away from it so much. Particularly because you can chop up the creatures and droids.

What's this "cool Star Wars stuff" you speak of?
