We Talk Over: State of Play 02/23/23

Glad GB talk overs are still a thing. I'm often negative of the direction of this site but I'm genuinely happy whenever one of these happen.

Woooow does Suicide Squad looks rough.

@chrisflavin: I lost what little interest I had in it. They don't even get the characters right. King Shark just shooting people instead of eating them?!

It would have been a much better show without the Suicide Squad stuff. I get marketing commitments and whatnot but it totally killed the mood. I feel bad for the devs that have to march this thing out and watch it immediately die.

Glad I'm not alone about Rocksteady's games here. Those guys need to go back to the level-by-level style of design they did for Arkham Asylum. Although, like Grubb said, maybe I'm feeling oversaturated for hero stuff now.

Well hopefully Rocksteady survives after this game bombs. Which it will since there trying to do live service and I don't know if they noticed but it's been rough for live service games that aren't the big 3. I do wish they have another chance to make something they want to make and tell the money men and suits that THIS LIVE SERVICE SHIT DON'T WORK ANYMORE!

I'll hold my final judgement on Suicide Squad until the game is out, but it does seem pretty underwhelming. It seems more like an instant Game Pass or PSPlus debut game, instead of a full 70 dollar product.

Is Suicide Squad a B game?

EDIT: I read about how much of a bummer Suicide Squad is before watching this, but words didn't do it justice. What a freakin' bummer. It looks to be a front-runner for Biggest Miscalculation of 2023.
