I feel like a failure as a person when I live in Seattle and I find out about the shit that went down a couple days ago through an offhand comment in a Japanese gaming podcast...

I'm still listening to this one (it's long enough to have covered my breaks at work and commute and still have some time left), but just wanted to say that I love this episode and the previous one, which are the only two I've listened to. It's nice to see a podcast about Japanese games - lord knows the other two gaming podcasts I listen to kinda don't give an eff - and I'll be listening from now on.

Always nice to have more podcasts to listen too.  I especially like some coverage of Japanese games, especially RPGs, that the Giantbomb guys normally don't give much time or attention to.

Just a shame it is only once every 2 weeks.  But hey, if that is my only complaint I guess you guys are doing something right, eh?

Mark McD, thank god you injected some sense into the WiiU touchscreen thing. Your co-podcaster momentarily lost his mind, it seems like.

Great podcast and thanks for the WiiU info that I somehow ignored. I didn't know about the WiiU stylus thing. So it's not a real touch screen ? Sure it looks big and uncomfortable.

No, it's a real touch screen... You can use your finger, or you can use a stylus... It's no different than a 3DS touch screen, though apparently Nintendo may also be incorporating Haptic feedback technology into it.

Resistive vs capacitive touch screen was the comparison they were groping for.

Good cast guys,

Dragons Dogma sounded awesome as it was described during the podcast. The demo is complete shit though. Looks like Skyrim still has nothing to worry about as usual.

I for one really liked the demo, although it was a bit short. I didn't like it enough to buy it at launch though. Once it hits 30-40 bucks I am all over it.

Thanks for the idea to throw the pawn over the cliff. Makes the first level much more enjoyable. However throwing the other two off the cliff made it a little more difficult than I wanted. I played the demo a couple times before hearing this podcast, and after hearing their input, I had to play it again. Can't wait for the coverage once the full thing comes out.

Did you guys have no input on the text size and font for the NPC dialog? That part had "developed in Japan" written all over it.

Why do people use the "if I have to stare at the back of the character" excuse for making a character of the opposite sex? If you want to do it, just do it. But don't use some weird backwards excuse like that. I'm not sexualizing my male warrior, so don't act like "we're all staring at asses, might as well be turned on by it.."

You wanted to play as a girl. Acceptance is the first step.

Why do you have to take issue with how others justify their character choices? What right do you have to say whether or not that's the real reason people choose female characters? When people choose to play a female character, it isn't necessarily because they "wanted to play as a girl", anymore then when people choose male characters it's because they "wanted to play as a man". Usually it's simply a matter of aesthetics.

And what right do you have to say that I shouldn't? You see, we're both just talking here. So don't go pulling the "Who are you?" thing because it goes both ways. Anyway, like I said, if you want to play as someone of the opposite sex, that's fine. But I find the "back of the character" excuse extremely odd. And someone in the podcast used that reasoning.

Finally go around to listening to this. I really like their differing perspective to the GB guys on things like Dragon's Dogma. This podcast really feels like it's adding something new to the site, and the overlap isn't very large even though they are both video game podcasts.
