After watching the QL, this was my first Daily DOTA and call me a caveman like simpleton, but I just don't get it. I know some games have a steep learning curve, but this looks utterly terrifying to play.

I was the same way too, but the tutorial 'campaign' in the game's QL fixed that. Now I think I'm hooked. Especially the simplified gametype you saw Vinny play where you just have to take out the mid lane. it's basically just warcraft meets tower defense. pick a lane, shoot things and try not to die until the other guys buildings all blow up.

@osaladin: It wasn't that he was new, it was that he put on airs before his ignorance was revealed, and then continued to be a dick about it.

The report was warranted, I would've done the same thing.

I like this feature. What I like most about this episode is that it's so long. I'm in my third sitting - mostly because it's so fucking hot and I can't wear headphones for this long. Which brings me to what I don't like about this episode: Matt and Crispy are way too low in the sound mix :( Hope you can fix that next time, @brad, even if it's just turning down your own mic. Thank you!

@brad I'm sorry, but that 2nd game was pathetic behavior by you. The guy is ignored during the picking phase, then when after pinging upwards of 10 times, he asks you as politely as possible to pay more attention, you call him kind of a dick. And then after shit-talking him pretty much all game, you cap it off by reporting him for comm abuse for what exactly? That's ridiculous, if I'm playing any sort of recreational sport, and someone asks me to "please *insert suggest behavior here*" and I respond with, "shut up dick", no one would ever invite me back.

Wow.

are you guys really defending that Ursa? Do you play Dota? I thought the report was totally warranted. Too often i encounter people who abuse the Ping and start ordering people around - and blaming everyone else for their poor play. The guy was playing Ursa jungle, and should have been able to deal with that Veng or Death Prophet or whatever it was without being a jerk to his team.

@nofzac: I have probably close to a thousand hours of Dota 1, HoN, and Dota 2 combined. But even if I hadn't, there's so much wrong with your statement. First, he wasn't abusing ping, he was trying to get Brad's attention. Secondly, Ursa has no CC, and cant deal with a range harassing him early on whatsoever. Third, how on EARTH is asking for Brad to pay more attention being a jerk? The guy made one or two comments like he was good, but nothing inflammatory, then when it started to go downhill for him, Brad and his sycophants start piling on. And the report was warranted? Brad reported him for communication abuse, please point out one thing he said that qualifies as "abusive". His ignorance about his own skill level merited nothing more than a chuckle at his expense, not a goddamn mute report.

@fungiefips: I think what you are taking for politeness - I'm seeing as passive aggressive ordering people around. Brad and Matt both came over leaving their lane to assist the first time....So from a game perspective, i think leaving Mid multiple times to address someone harassing Ursa was a bad play. Matt went the second time, and again the dude says "Gank this f'ing Veng, dont let him sit there" - and they both go again to assist. then he dies by a neutral. Brad and his "Sycophants" werent abusing that guy or talking crap...that dude was being a d*ck and expecting 2 people to babysit him the whole game, then talking sht when they didnt.

Okay, during the last match Brad still had two iron branches 40 minutes in. Playing a hard carry. That's kinda bad, isn't it?

This.

That guy was being an asshole. If you are jungling it is. not the responsibility of the mid to come save your ass every single time a random hero comes and harasses you. Obviously mid should be trying to gank, but it's not his responsibility to babysit you

I'm going back through all of these to see if anybody plays Disruptor and I'm probably out of luck. That said, keep on keepin on, Team Brad.

I don't see why people care for Ursa he didn't seem like a nice person or particularly good.

Am I the only one who finds Crispy's yelling to be a very annoying cry for attention?
