Played this after Jeff mentioned it on the bombcast, cool game. Didn't realise it was the same guy who made republia times, that was an interesting thing.

This is one of the best games I have played this year it is incredibly addictive despite what it seems a totally boring concept. Can't wait for the full game!

I ripped through the beta without even realizing it. Such a unique and strangely addictive game. Curious to hear what the plans for distribution were, ie: Steam Greenlight, straight from Lucas, etc. Great interview by Scoops.

He travels through time spreading his seed and giving history its most influential figures.

This game was pretty cool, but after like the third time being docked for not doing something I had no clue how to do because they barely explain shit, I had to stop playing.

I was definitely bummed about Jeff's rapid decent into just following orders, apparently so was the creator of this game in how widespread that was. I guess it shouldn't have been a surprise given various psychological studies, but I thought the Walking Dead had been informative. I guess the video game family does take precedence over video game strangers.

The game's a lot of fun, but the "you have a bunch of family members in your house and THEY'RE ALL FREEZING AND STARVING TO DEATH AND ALSO SICK" felt pretty tacked on as a cheap and easy way to introduce drama. I also didn't find double-checking (or memorizing!) the huge list of issuing cities to be particularly fun.

Everything else about it was pretty great though. Definitely worth checking out.

Everyone needs to play this game, and donate if possible. We should always support people like Kevin Pope and Richard Hofmeier who strive to make an empathetic gaming experience for little to no price.

HAH, I just played the game and totally thought the guy without papers was a bug. I tried correlating him with the empty countertop, closed the shutters, called for the next person in line but then I just stopped playing when that didn't work.

There's a great article to be written or argument to be had about the place of games-as-commentary. On a subconscious level, there's a certain barrier (in my mind) to paying for content I usually equate with entertainment and fun, and when encountering... software that attempts to convey a message rather than provide fun, I'm kind of at a loss as to how to... imbibe it. I'm "in" on the gaming scene to know about these games, so the concept itself isn't foreign, but dealing with this flexible definition of what a "game" is is a great exercise. Movies and music have had the time to go through this period - there's movies/music for fun and some for more intellectual experiences - and I'm curious to see how "games" will evolve from this aspect. Will we ever see something along the lines of a web portal that provides only 'intellectual' games, something along the lines of a magazine for interactive fic/nonfic? With weekly updates/games and subscriptions and the rest? Something that the commoner would be interested in visiting and subscribing to? Or am I thinking of an outdated mode of content delivery? Whatever happens, it'll definitely be industry-defining (maybe not for the AAA guys, but surely for the indies and general consumers).

I've been pimping this game everywhere, nice to finally hear from the dude. A fun game and an important one. Those are two things you don't usually expect in your "serious game".

Awesome! I just got around to playing this, tore through what's there so far, went on the Internet to find further entertainment and boom! Here's an interview. Time to listen to this while I submit my name to the game...

Edit: Yep. Thought the paperless guy was a bug. Tried restarting the day, he happened again, so I spent time reading the rules, waiting to see if it would fix itself or something, and there it was, clear as day.

Van Helsing's Fire is a pretty terrific puzzle game for the iOS too. Surprised that this is the same guy.

Also, this game is fantastic. Love that recurring character who's utterly clueless about his papers. Cobrastan is a helluva fake fake country name.

Anyways, I can't wait to see this further down the line. It's clear the at-home life isn't fully fleshed out yet. I look forward to seeing how that stuff evolves.

I wish Patrick had played the game before conducting the interview, would have loved to learn about the decision to include specific mechanics (As mentioned before the tacked on family is dying element) and how they will evolve throughout the 30 days of the game. He was just asking quite general questions.

Played the beta earlier and really enjoyed it. But like

says I hate playing betas of games where there is an actual story to play and it isn't just systems like minecraft
