Something the game doesn't tell you: Doing story missions will decrease world wide panic in some cases, like that alien base mission. You can time that before the council report to keep countries from pulling out.

So hyped for this!

RE: Gita having a regular sniper rifle

I just realized this in my own game after an embarrassingly long time. If someone is wounded it unequips their gear after you get back to base so it's available for other characters.

P.S. It's great to be back in with the Corps!!

Alex played really well with the cards he was dealt. The Abomination is becoming a killing machine.

Abby's intro letter voiceover made me want to immediately load up on allergy meds =p

pro-tip: Overwatch at the end of turns, not before everyone has moved. You can't undo commands like overwatch, and you might need them to do something.

Eh, he got a lot of vital help from Vinny here. Alex seemed to want to start every turn by having the Abomination move and hunker down, same way he did most previous episodes.

I would gamble by trying to do the alien base before the month end to reduce worldwide panic. That said, Alex made the safer call that probably will work out better for the corps in the long run.

Once they're done with Enemy Within, I hope they do War of the Chosen!

Since this Series took its break, I was fortunate enough to buy Xcom on sale, and started playing it. Now I clearly understand the comments made in previous videos where some users were aware of the danger the missions that come after the alien base will bring to this series. Seeing the soldiers they have, I agree... Even if they do the alien base (that doable, with their roaster) that might just be their final mission imo, and I will not comment more on the subject cause it can fall on spoiler territory.

As for this mission, Well Abomination continues to soak all the XP and GITA is the new MVP

Good job.

There are some crazy moves in this round:

- Help civilians before taking down enemies.

- Dash soldiers from a safe position to fire on an enemy when there are other soldiers much closer.

- Not checking what the UI tells you (like not realizing you are dashing)

Nobody even remembers Russell's Folly, the blaster bomb.

Seeing "Android" as Jason's nickname, bizarrely, made me think - have we had a Matt Rorie yet in this series?

I would like to see an analysis of the XCOM interface that explains why people instinctively click through all the EXALT menus without reading through any of it

They need to wait for the Dog expansion to make a Rorie

Boy, the team's continued ignorance of how the EXALT mechanics work (and their penchant for clicking through EVERY popup to do with it) continues to boggle my mind.

I enjoy this series, but I would love when it's over for someone to make a supercut of every time they find out they can't move and shoot a rocket in the same turn.

Nice play! When I saw 2 cyberdiscs bust in at once I was expecting a disaster.

Double Tap might be the best ability in the game.

Yeah it's back! Awesome series with the best intros.

@kortex: One of the reasons mechs are so insanely poweriful/game breaking almost in this. They get both a shoot-twice ability and a 'fire when attacked' ability. Getting 3 shots off a turn with the weapons you can give them means they absolutely wreck house.

Likewise, being able to shoot twice for any class is by far the most powerful ability in the game(aside from the sniper 'i kill everyone on the map on my turn' combo) Also the most broken possible combo you can get if you play Long War and turn on the random abilities. Getting Double tap and burst-fire (whatever the heavy fire twice and the 2 attacks at -15% is) on one character means "Shoot as first action, shoot twice as second" just..insane.

Also holy heck now I am reminded how great that modifer made my play-throughs of this game. Having every single character with randomized abilities made them all extremely unique and memorable. Wish that was a base option in this (unless it is, in which case excellent go try it everyone been awhile since I played!)
