EDIT: Excuse me if I'm coming off so serious but as someone who lives in Sweden, one of the strictest countries in Europe when it comes to cannabis, it's frustrating, especially when you hear "It's basically legal now".

C'mon Dan, you're a professional journalist with a college degree, we expect better than this. (this is a joke by the way in case it wasn't obvious)

@boonsong: THC values of weed strains now are of the chart a lot off scientist are out there saying most weed these days are in the hard drug sector instead of the soft drug one. Ofc. Legislation can counter this by making state controlled weed. But i don't believe the state has to make weed. O yeah this is coming from somebody who lives close to the border of the Netherlands so we see a lot of weed tourists in Belgium. Should people go to jail if they get caught with a few grams of weed ? Hell no, but i still think weed can ruin lives, by making this dumb culture and doing like it's nothing.

What are those smelling salt type thing they make Jeff try in this episode? I’ve never heard of such a thing.

Glad to hear that the Doctor Dekker folks are working on a new title. I really enjoyed that game, and it's heartening to see FMV handled by capable actors & filmmakers.

People have ruined marriages and lives over MMOs, microtransactions, collecting Coca Cola memorabilia. Suggesting cannabis actively ruins lives is misleading at best and malicious at worst.

@ewzzy: The same people who made Doctor Dekker last year are making a new FMV game with some of the cast of Contradiction like Rupert Booth (who played Jenks) and the woman who played Emma.

So fun fact: The VA, an organization that refuses to look into the benefits of cannabis for veterans suffering from chronic pain and PTSD, is now asking for volunteers to research the potential benefits of ketamine for treating severe PTSD.

Abby, I had the exact same helicopter bug happen in Far Cry 5. I had a pretty rough time with the bugs in that game.

@soulcake: It is deeply unfortunate that that has happened and I hope your friends can find the help they need in ways that are not destructive to themselves and the people around them. That's not really a compelling reason to keep sending nonviolent people to prison over it, though.

I know your comment about cocaine is hyperbole, but I'd much rather see decriminalization and treatment than mandatory jail time for people who suffer from addiction.

I'm not the biggest call of duty zombies fan either, but hey @danryckert, maybe don't just dismiss things as garbage if you don't like it, because that's a real garbage opinion when a lot of other people get some enjoyment from it.

The Xbox One S does not change the resolution of Red Dead. It runs in 720P on the S, but with a more stable 30FPS framerate. The Xbox One X is the only system that plays the back compatibility games in 4K. And they run in native 4K, not upscaled.

New Feature idea; Dan Tries It! - The rest of the crew get Dan to play a game he has no interest in or is initially repulsed by for 30-60 mins and see if he ends up liking it or not.

Alex also thought God of War 2 came out in 2005 when it was actually a 2007 release; after the PS3 came out. 2005 was when the original God of War released.

Listening to this at work and I absolutely lost it at whatever that Shenmue voice was. My sweet Lord. This may be the most game-light episode of the BeastCast I can recall but it certainly came heavy on the comedy

I love Bakalar at times, but f**k me does he come off as an incredibly jaded gamer, down plays just about everything that's positive in today's gaming market.

This was one of my favorite episodes just because of the pizza incident while the wife is out of town.
