Austin's thoughts on "that guy blinked in pvp and might not have earned it" on Destiny is exactly why I hate the requisition packs in Halo 5. Warzone would be a much better mode without them.

Speaking of overpriced micro-transactions, Halo 5 just recently got a ton of req pack bundles, going all the way up to $99.99.

And it's kind of decently-sized this time, too. Sweet. ;) (I'm just teasing, guys. Listen to enough 3+hour Bombcasts and anything less starts feeling... underwhelming. Not your fault, you all have your own schedules to keep.)

If a game can keep it up for 50 or more hours it without pulling any gametime extending garbage it should be 50 or more hours, if I can't get a buck an hour for my $60 investment it's a piece of shit of a $60 investment, speaking as a person with enough money for one full game a month for entertainment.

Let's get mad at offering people the chance to bypass what only costs time in-game by putting real life money into it instead.

As for streamers and youtubers, people are comfy with them living their lives and getting around, in fact it's often the draw, to be happy for their success. People are however not comfortable when there's no disclosure of any kind and the streamer or youtuber acts like they're ready to give their firstborn for this certain game or company, until the contract expires and they can start talking shit. We need a global FTC for this shit.

@computerandy9: for some reason a lot of American folk seem to have trouble differentiating Australian and some English accents.

Though as mentioned, House does have an odd accent anyway, one of those non-descript and non-regional ones corporate British people often have. Easy mistake to make.

Your discussion of the robot football game is basically the same plot as an episode of The Twilight Zone, except that was a guy pretending to be a robot boxer instead of a robot football man.

Very interested in possibly playing Dragon's Dogma again on PC. My biggest issue (and really, only issue) was not being able to fast travel until the very end of the game, and in a really shitty way. But I like Austin's reasoning in how every task feels like a journey. I just remember getting annoyed having to run literally everywhere, multiple times back and forth across the map.

omg that 'they took our jerbs' quip had me rolling. It just seemed to come out at the perfect moment and no one batted an eye, but damn it got me good.

Though Konami is certainly an extreme, I think they exist within the context of Japanese labour culture in a way that makes it unlikely for any major change.

Aw, they didn't mention what their plans are for Life is Strange. Surprised there's no Playdate this week.

You know what charging $30 does? Gets you 15 minutes of Destiny airtime on a gaming podcast. And they can always put that 'on sale' and lower it to a more appealing price down the line.

Charging $5 wouldn't have given them that.

The talk about leveling weapons made me think of Ratchet & Clank. I feel it was one of those series that got better when they introduced leveling weapons. Though the ideas are different from Destiny's (single player, set amount of weapons, and encouraged to use all of them vs. multiplayer, theoretically infinite weapons, and wanting to find favorites or good ones and stick with them), I think leveling weapons have their place.

How many Proof of Life references have been in the Giantcasts? Alex made one as if everybody knows that movie. Do we all know that movie?
