EDIT: Good to hear the UK chain pubs get a mention (likes of Wetherspoons and John Barras spring to mind). They're fine, food is usually passable and they tend to have a good range of beers/ciders on tap alongside all your usual stuff.

As for gold stuff in games, I'm usually not one to go for that - but for some reason in MGSV I fell into it. Initially I made my helicopter gold right off the bat just because I could and it seemed so outrageously ostentatious that I couldn't resist. I was planning to change it, but then when making my emblem I saw that "Gold" was an available word.

This meant I had no realistic option other than calling my PMC "Gold Snake" - and once I also noticed you could turn your rocket arm gold there was clearly no turning back. That said, even though I carried on the theme wherever possible, I never painted Quiet gold. That felt weird to me (on both a "you can't just paint someone for your own personal branding" level and a "ludonarrative dissonance with the whole skin-breathing aspect of her character" level).

I've actually reached the point where I like Superman more than Batman.

A dude who can punch the planet out of orbit is still more interesting and relatable than a dude who always has the perfect solution to every problem he ever encounters.

Both characters have excellent stories, of course, but the fact that Batman is presented as a "normal person" makes him more insufferable in general.

Does anyone on the GB staff dig Monhun? I'm hyped for Generations but I have no people to relate to, even online. It's like most people are put off by the controls which is insane. 4 Ultimate had a great moveset for almost all the 14 weapon classes. I think Nintendo confirmed we'll hear more of it at E3.

I really don't think Austin should get his hopes up about the tone of Watch Dogs 2. Ubisoft wants us to think to think DeadSec are super cool despite how corny they appear in their attempt to come across as edgy and badass.

@rasrimra: Jason is a huge Monster Hunter player. He was in the hundreds of hours counts on 4 and has said he is hyped for Generations. He was able to get Drew to dip his toe into the series too. I am definitely hyped for Gen. I agree, the individual weapons in 4 all had a unique feel and added a lot of depth to that game. And it sounds like they are going to be leaning even more into that so I am really hoping to get more info out of E3 about the mechanics that will be new or changed in this one.

Floating point numbers are not approximate, they are precise. The issue is that you can't represent every number using floating point, so results have to be rounded.

Also, you can represent real numbers without floating point numbers by using fixed point numbers and arithmetic, which is much faster and easier to perform (and in many cases more precise than floating point), but which does not have a high dynamic range.
