Yeah, I've always liked listening to these after we already know the "results". Jeff already revealed that he was really sure we'd get another Metroid (the one we got doesn't count!) or Mario game for example :P

@amyggen: didn't they announce a while before E3 that they weren't gonna show a new mario game?

Hmmm, maybe? I dunno, that announcement must've slipped by me. There's so many pre E3 announcements.

@springfart: Nah, the Last Guardian was as close to a sure thing as vaporware can get. Apparently people were adamant about it being there last year, and not just in a hopeful way, but in a "people who work there have said so" way.

Interesting. It WAS coming up at premium content a moment ago for me...

It says free on the schedule, and they've never mentioned that it's premium. Jeff has also said that the panels would be sponsored in some way, which they would never do with something that's premium. It's safe to assume that it's free like it's always been.

....Is that supposed to be a royalty free get lucky?

Jeff described how I feel when I had to play Madden or MLB 2KXX with friends or family. Just a boring, excruciatingly dull experience where I can tell they're kind of annoyed, but won't say anything. My body language is probably just shoulders slumped, clear signs of having a throbbing migraine and utter disinterest in my face.

I'm only thankful that I don't know anyone who plays FIFA. That has to be the absolute worst and most boring experience of all.

They pretty much jokingly predicted Fallout 4's Special Edition Pipboy thing with that WiiU discussion.

I totally thought it would be march 2016. All the way until they said Doom 4 would release around then. Then I knew it was either this year or late 2016. Glad we don't have to wait.

Dan needs to get over the fact that 3D World is the core Mario series for Nintendo right now. Just because it has an OPTIONAL multiplayer feature, it is THE Mario series for the Wii U.

Dan and Brad are crazy and wrong. Super Mario 3D World is a Mario game in EXACTLY the same lineage as the Galaxy games.

Stop bumming me out about no Beyond Good And Evil 2

Did Brad not watch Nintendo's Direct from last year's E3 and get the cliff notes, did he completely blank it from his memory, or is he severely overhyping how big of a deal the Twilight Princess reveal (that, Jeff will gladly remind you, was from a time when fans would be let into the conferences along with press, and are guaranteed to overreact to everything) was? The answer is yes.

At E3 2014, Nintendo introduced amiibo, had the new Kirby and Yoshi games, Splatoon, Zelda U trailer, Mario Maker, Captain Toad, Star Fox, Xenoblade X, Pokémon, Hyrule Warriors, plenty of other stuff, the Treehouse stream that everyone acknowledges was the standout of last year, and the skits. What does Brad actually classify as a barn-burner, if that's not enough?

One thing that pisses me off about the guys is when their invented fiction somehow becomes fact in their minds, as shown how they talked about The Last Guardian. Like, I don't think Sony actually showed or talked about it beyond the initial reveal trailer (maybe they showed it again at TGS that year), yet they pretend that Sony was constantly teasing and delaying it. All I remember is Sony, year after year, saying that they didn't have anything new to say, every time those sneaky press fucks asked about the game.

Also, Brad's notion that Ueda was not involved at all anymore or that somehow every coder at Sony was working on finishing the game in his spare time, based entirely on rumors.

At the very end Dan is asked to predict how many more E3s there will be AFTER 2015. He says four. Considering 2021 E3 was virtual I think at the time of this post Dan has the record for the best and greatest E3 prediction of all time.
