I saw this live. It was a bit of a mess. Talking over tutorials and then saying I have no idea what we're doing was a little hard to watch. But man did it lead to some fantastic "jokes"

Love this coast. You guys always make my day. Laughed pretty hard at some of this.

Really happy for this Quick Look. Love Jack Box but I tend to play at 3-4 players. Looks like this one really needs at least 5 to play well for all of the games except the dictionary one. Also I know most have 1 bad game in them, but both the pirate joke and the personality quiz games looked pretty bad. Seems like Jack Box had a good idea in Push the Button and no other ideas, so they threw in a couple of (almost repeats) and crap.

This was a very fun mess and I laughed a ton. But I'm going to pass on this Party Pack. I'm sure Push the Button is more fun if you have 5-8 players who know what they're doing, but mostly I take the Jackbox games out at parties where like half the people playing have never seen these before. Under those conditions I don't think any of this batch are that great.

I think Dan would really enjoy reading Greek Myth. Plenty of fighting and action and genuinely intriguing and weird stuff. Great stories.

We need an Unfinished vid for Chernobylite it seams like Metro and S.T.A.L.K.E.R. so don't have Dan lead maybe bring in Mike for it.

Very weak Jackbox, imo. They seem to be running out of ideas. Would still be great if they combined all the games into one central app though.

I love Dan building up Mahardy into this Travis Bickle like mythic figure, stalking the streets of NY at night.

@gundato:It may have been a little quiet, and he was also sitting away from it a lot because he was bein a grump.

I think this series is the only one where "they were talking over the instructions" isn't a valid complaint. If these games are meant to be played in a party they should be doable, even when everyone is clawed up and gabbing.

I hope to see more of the alien game with a bigger group!

The Kojima-turd tinder date answer was the best but it went over everyone's head. It means that person's tinder dates are all like MGS set pieces, in that they're convoluted and pretentious with a thick layering of immature horniness.

I think I'm using Firefox for effectively the same reasons as Dan is and I'm not sure how to feel about that.

@wunderkin: Yeah I also enjoyed seeing how the game played with the fewest players recommended. Alex fell ill just before the stream so they did plan to have a few more but seeing these games in a smaller settings definitely expose which ones are weak. As content, they should stick to when they have 5-6 to play, but seeing what 3-4 was like was helpful for us that might not be able to round up a full game.

I love how Dan was like "I guess Jeff is not a trustworthy guy"...Dan chose shapeshifting...next to invisibility the creepiest of superpowers...there is not a single honest or not creepy thing that can be done with those superpowers

@wunderkin: It depends on the group you play it with, obviously, but I had a much better time on average this pack than some of the previous ones.

Dan sounds like he’s had 15 coffees before this feature. The way he is frantically constantly speaking during the alien game is something else.. I was trying to listen to the tutorial to understand the game and could not make it out throughout Dans wild rambling.

Yeah, got to echo the sentiment that this Party Pack just doesn't seem great. Trivia Murder Party is fine, but it's been done before. Push the Button seems like it just implements the rules of several hidden identity games, but with added complexity that just doesn't work in a party setting. It's not that it's bad, it's just a too complex for a style of game that has so many other, established options that are arguably better. If they had taken out all the rooms except the drawing room, that would have been interesting, make it a drawing focused Spyfall.

I'm not sure, but I'd assume someone's made app versions of Spyfall or Avalon or One Night Werewolf by now, and those games are all quite good for doing some lying with your friends.

The rest of the games seemed pretty boring to be honest.

Abby picking a Von Trier (a nazi/sexual harasser and assaulter) movie in the alien game and then immediately dismissing Casey Affleck is weird lol

@jeffmoocow: That's fair. I watched DitD before a lot of those accusations came to light and in my fervor to quickly write an answer, that was just the first movie I could think of that made me cry.

While I loved the Quick Look but it really needed an Alex/Vinny to be the adults. Abby does a great job but it's unfair to ask her to monitor the recording, live video, participate, and keep everyone on track.

This version doesn't seem to have a perfect games like Tee K.O. and Mad Verse City. Both are creative and hilarious. Others have had some great ones also like Patently Stupid and Fakin' It.

They did a really great job on not talking about Jeffs opinions of Death Stranding. Dodged a bullet on that embargo!

Drawful is still the best game as far as i'm concerned. Making people draw silly stuff is always great!
