@shaanyboi: Even by American standards, Dan has a stunningly poor grasp of even the most basic French pronunciation. Or he plays it up as a gimmick because his whole public-facing persona on Giant Bomb is to exaggerate his ignorance? Who can really say.

The "puzzle solved" jingle in this sounds more like the one from Metroid Prime than that from other Zeldas...

@awkwardl0ser: word for word, you just described my relationship with Zelda and many of the Nintendo franchises. At some point, many years from now, we'll get to a point where many people didn't grow up with Nintendo.

Also, Finding Nemo is the best Pixar film. Just sayin'!

In my honest opinion and all that noise.

I think I can firmly stand on the side of "Everyone Needs to Lighten Up". It's a game published before most of you were born. No need to be dicks. Ever.

There are some very noticeable FPS drops, even in this video.

Ouch.

Yeah. Brad once said it was better than the E3 demo, but I'm not seeing that in my experience. The swamp in particular is really, really bad. I even made a point of destroying every enemy in the area (including the flowers) just to see if it got better. It didn't.

The game chugs anytime certain special effects activate (like enemies going poof) or distinct areas come into view. There's even pop-in. There's a room in Tail Cave with two chests in close proximity to one another. If you stand at a specific distance, you can walk back and forth and see one pop in and out. The Roc's Feather exacerbates things, too. For whatever reason, this version briefly stops your movement upon landing, which makes everything look more jittery.

I love Link's Awakening, and I swear I'm not a performance snob. The framerate dips, however, keep ruining the illusion that I'm playing a living diorama. A Switch Pro can't come soon enough. The current model is struggling more and more with each new release.

I loved this game as a kid, probably finished it 7 or 8 times or so. In my opinion this has always been one of the best 2D Zeldas along with Link to the Past and Minish Cap.

The FPS drops sure are disappointing, especially when it appears to be the game's one true flaw. I've seen reports that it is memory bandwidth or resolution scaling issues tied with the vsync. Seems so weird for drastic 60-30 drops to be commonplace. I bet if the game ran at an uncapped frame rate the drops would be far smaller, as it appears the game is forcing 30 FPS for whatever reason.

Love all of the dorks freaking out because Dan is pronouncing a minor character in their precious franchise incorrectly. Deal with it!

@mobiusfun: Why? Because you expect everyone to have experienced the same games as you, so screw anyone who hasn't?

I've been having a blast with this game, some framerate issues but love the look, love the dungeons, love the vague hints on what you need to do next. Never played the original.
