Please do 13 Deadly Sims Go To College

100% yes to this! '13 Deadly Sims' was hands-down one of the best features Giant Bomb has ever done and would love to see the crew try something else in Sims World! Thankfully, the game has a loving advocate in Abby and I know she could come up with something cool!

I want to add my full official support for another Sims feature, Thirteen Deadly Sims was amaaaaazing. All hail Abby, Queen of Brooklyn and Crabs and also Nugs and probably Tater Tots as well.

There is a new way to die in this expansion pack. That's just begging for exploration in a 13 Deadly Sims feature!

I'm jealous Abby has a game like the Sims. It's constantly adding new content. Sure 40 dollar expansions seems expensive but I'd love to be able to add to a game I play over months and years. There's always something. It's really cool. I play Halo with my friends weekly, but that's just a shooter. It can only add so many maps.

Also: throwing my vote in for a another Sims feature. Truly some of the best content GB has done.

My suggestion for a Sims feature would be to combine 13DS and The Exquisite Corps.

My pitch: Abby acts as the knowledgeable 'Commander' while Dan, Alex and Vinny play. Each participant picks two people to add to the house (celebrities, game characters, staff members, anyone really) for a total of 8 sims.
Then each player picks a sim and a late game goal for them. Perhaps they get married and have a family, advance in a certain career, accrue money and buy a house, etc. I'd trust Abby to determine suitable goals. If that's too easy it could be multiple sims with multiple goals each.
Each player then takes turns trying to advance their own goals while sabotaging the others. First player to complete their goals wins.
Caveat being one can't make other goals impossible. No killing other sims, no locking them in a doorless room. I trust Vinny and Alex to be good sports about this and hopefully Abby can reign in Dan's bullshit.

I'd like a feature that leaves more room to explore what The Sims is capable of while fulfilling the "what the hell happened here" promise of Exquisite Corps.
In any case: more Sims.

I don't mind Dan’s college stories. Maybe it's because I don't have much respect for the school system, so it's just funny to hear how someone could pass by doing almost nothing.

In a weird way I even admire it.

Not really into expansions that are 98-100% their own separate world that doesn't really have an impact on The Sims 4 itself.

Most of all I'd like to see...probably just The Sims 5, because I'd want improvements to fundamentals like how AI and personalities work, and more outlets and expressions for it.

I feel like personalities are rarely expressed or are too subtle. Feels like I have to force my sim to behave according to the personality I want them to have. I want more personality and drama. More systemic emergentness.

There should be sliding scales for various traits, so you can set the intensity. By maxing out the correlating trait(s) you can for instance make someone just a properly shitty asshole who runs around egging people's houses, rings the doorbell, greets them by farting in his hand and slapping them in the face before running off to defecate in their mailbox. Basically so an evil or mean sim could be anywhere between someone who behaves like a constant gremlin, or someone who occasionally says something a bit rude, which is basically the only option in The Sims 4.

And expand on the traits that more directly affect behavior rather then just how fast a need or skill meter increases or whatever. And you should be able to assign more traits to a sim. Just three is rarely enough to make a character, tends to make them samey. Maybe up to ten?

Also you should be able to put limits on skills. Because eventually every single sim becomes an expert chef, it's inevitable. But sometimes you want your sim to be shitty at cooking and/or there to be a risk of an accidental fire. Or maybe you want your sim to partake in dancing for instance, but to remain bad at it.

It won't happen any time soon, but The Sims 5 please.

The degree to which this expansion pack accurately simulates the modern college experience hinges entirely on the answer to my next question. Is there a way to accuse the other sims of microaggressing me?

I agree! While Abby is the Sims-head of the crew, the rest of the gang's fun was just that they knew so little of what goes on in the game. You can't recreate that. But, like you said (and it's brilliant) combining their lack of Sims experience with the schedule and rotation (and competition in this case for Dan) of what made The Exquisite Corps so much fun for everybody and you get the return, more or less, of two of Giant Bomb's most popular features! Great idea!

Just curious, I did a quick calculation of how much it would cost to get the full Sims 4 experience (in CAD)

Base game (deluxe edition) = 51.99

8 expansion packs, 51.99 each = 415.92

8 stuff pack DLC, 25.99 each = 207.92

15(!) stuff pack DLC, 12.99 each = 194.85

All together = $870.68 = ~$620 to 650 USD

And to be continued...

@applegong: I see people do this calculation literally every time I do a Sims QL, but they never seem to do it with other games that have a monthly subscription cost or other ongoing payments. 🤔If you divide your calculation by the number of months the sims has been out, it comes to about $10usd a month.

These expansions aren't designed to be purchased all at once (and they often offer discounted bundles with certain packs) and even if you don't buy any expansions, you still have a full game experience with regular free updates. The way I see it, I wish more games offered me the opportunity to pay $40 every six months or so to still feel new five years after they came out.

@ybbaaabby:

I get the value proposition but I mean it's still pretty mind boggling that the expansion packs are the same price as the game. The price figure is pretty much the worst case scenario where a person who is absolute fan of the series buys everything Sims 4 related day one of release, but yes, the bundles are going to take about 20% off the figure. I understand that people can choose not to buy all expansions too, but you know EA is pushing hard for the early adopters and huge Sims fans to purchase everything and get on the content treadmill, leaving off some content and spinning them off as stuff packs, DLCs for DLCs 😅

But I think you are onto something here, as the value of the series doesn't seem that bad when the support period and longevity is taken into account. Maybe offering a monthly subscription service at $10 per month or expanding the Origin Premier to include more if not all expansions and content would be not unreasonable at all. Ironically Sims Online, which didn't take off when it had a chance to go that path, would be a good compromise, I think.

Beer pong rules at the Richard Stockton College of NJ (when I went there 1998 - 2002)

6 cups in a triangle - 3 in the back row, 2 middle, 1 top.

Sometimes we played with satellites - 3 cups in a triangle on the corners of the table. But this wasn't an everyday thing. This made the game much harder and much longer which no one wanted at a party.

Rerack after every made shot. 3, 2, 1 triangle becomes 3,2,0 then it turns into a diamond of 1, 2, 1. Then it becomes a small triangle of 2,1. Then it becomes a straight line of 1, 1 until there's one cup left. And if you didn't rerack then you definitely were told to do so by the opposing person or team.

No bouncing allowed. If you threw too short and it bounced in, then it didn't count. You can swat only if the ball hits a rim and bounces up. But if you knock down your own cups then it counts as a made shot and you need to refill it and drink it.

There were different house rules, but I was in the largest fraternity on campus and the rules were pretty much the same everywhere I went. Even random apartments I found myself in would be playing by these rules.

If GB cared about what is popular content thed just do shemnue 2 and 3 playthroughts or anime reactions to hunter x hunter/my hero academia/one punch man or whatever is popular today. hell thed watch filming 40s of fast 8 and 9. They really just do their own thing so id just sit back and enjoy.
