There is so much going on in this game I can't keep track!

Guys, if you aren't 100% sure that you can defeat Deadeye Joe's first phase before he fires, then you should really consider shooting him more slowly to make the shots more predictable. The faster you shoot him, the faster he spins. If he shoots when he's spinning quickly, then it's a serious gamble for you to actually dodge his shots.

As for the third phase, please stop shooting whenever he's charging the laser and firing the laser. If he's moving erratically to the left and right, then the spread of the laser makes it too risky be on the ceiling or floor at those points.

@danryckert Hey dude, I'm a former barista, and have a huge disdain for coffee snobs. If you ever have questions about coffee, I'd be happy to answer what I know without being condescending. It's simultaneously complicated and also kind of a lot of bullshit. The reason a cup of coffee kicks your ass more than a can of soda is because there is way more caffeine in the coffee. A large cup of coffee might have like 200mg of caffeine, a can of soda is like 30mg. I think there might be some other science with the way a body reacts to coffee vs soda because of all the other stuff in soda.

I laughed way too hard at Dan saying "I'm just so aghast at what you've done"

If Vinny basically only likes 1 or 2 of Sheena's guns then why not switch? Sheena's 'A' is awesome but 'B' and 'C' suck and 'D' isn't great compared to other homing guns. All of Ray's guns are better imo:

'A' does a ton of damage.

'B' is a much better grenade launcher than doesn't drop.

'C' is spread, enough said.

'D' may be slowish but it also does way more damage than Sheena's 'D'.

I laughed so hard at that final part. Can't wait to see more as the series progresses. It's going to be really hard to top this series once it's over. I remember hearing Shattered Solider (the PS2 Contra) is ridiculously hard so that's always an option.

Anyone else notice or experience audio pops/crackles during GB East videos? Seems to be happening for a bit, whether on this site, YT, or downloaded (all during the same times). GB West seems fine along with every other video played on PC.

I just love it whenever Dan and Vinny play a game together, especially in the This Is The Run series. These videos are exactly what I was hoping for when Dan moved to GB East. It's just so much fun watching these two laugh and talk while getting their asses kicked by a video game. Keep 'em coming, guys. I wouldn't mind if it takes 20 more episodes to beat this game.

Shot II is worth the growing pains, Vincent!

@bnutbutter: I'm a big fan of Sheena's C weapon. It's powerful as fuck if you can land the shots, which pattern recognition takes care of.

Sheena's B and C weapon's don't suck; they're just best used with Shot II, and Vinny's obviously trying to get used to using Shot II. I think Vinny should stick with Sheena for her smaller hit box. I think Vinny's starting to see the value in her B and C weapons. Even if he doesn't end up liking them, however, he'd still be better off sticking with Sheena and sticking with A and D. The default shot is fine, too.

Today's episode was great. Nice to see Vinny finally giving Shot II a try.

Damn, Dan was MVP this episode.

I cannot get over how amazing this game is.

My life could have been so much different if I had played this as a kid.

By the way, Dan, in episode 8, the dinosaur sneezed because you were firing with weapon D equipped, and one of the red balls hit the dinosaur's nostril. You weren't specifically firing to the left on purpose, but the spread of your bullets in all directions just happened to line one bullet up with the dinosaur's nostril.

Well, this episode is starting off promising.
And it keeps going.
Dan's business moves on its own when it's out there.

From the looks of it the advantage of the weaker blue weapons is that they don't stop when they hit an enemy. That's why Dan's A weapon is good for clearing pegasus arrows; because the pegasus isn't able to block the shots.

Ray's B and A are super redundant and his tracking is really bad for clearing minions which is the main purpose of tracking shots. Sheena has a much better arsenal in terms of versatility to me.

'A' Insane damage and reliable

'B' Huge damage, perfect on slopes, and can be massively versatile when used with shot 2.

'C' Great damage, a lot like Ray's B is a decent upgrade form basic A, but it also overpenetrates as a bonus.

'D' By far the best minion killing weapon in the game.

I'm sure you guys are correct, I've never played it so I can't say one way or the other. I just though Vinny could mix it up since he has been so down on B and C. Seems to be getting it more recently though, all good.

I also hope that, while it's unlikely, they would consider playing through the alternative path. Can't just ignore those other cool bosses! Hopefully they'll at least attempt the secret ending if anything.

Dan: Coffee has other things in it besides caffeine that get you going. Also, most cups of coffee have more caffeine than a single bottle of soda. I never get woken up by soda or energy drinks. At most they'll keep me from totally falling asleep. But coffee is the only thing that'll keep me buzzed, even after years of drinking it.

The arbitrariness of the dingleberry boss' hitability is not a good idea.

Watching them absolutely breeze through Noiman Cascade (in comparison to earlier attempts) was so satisfying. As fun as this series is for the gags and goofs, I think one of my favorite things is just seeing two people develop the technical skills necessary to progress through a game like this.

When Dan talks about drinking a bunch of soda in the morning instead of coffee, I just imagine him being the kid back in elementary school that used Surge in his Frosted Flakes instead of milk.
