I can't imagine they will talk about the Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 Remix announcement. Like Giant Bomb they don't seem that interested in that series.

So much 8-4, so great! Me so happy!

I continue to be disappointed in Mark yelling over everyone and not listening. Regarding DQX in particular, someone repeatedly answered his question as to why the land for housing would cost so much. On top of their answer, MMOs need long-term goals. The gameplay/feedback loop isn't as immediate as in traditional games. You don't have to finish everything in time for a review deadline. Some people will play the game for 2+ years, so some "stretch goals" are a good idea, probably a necessity because the players will always consume content faster than it can be produced.

Great podcast! According the new slimerer PS3 I think Sony does not want to down play it with price. Now they have a new bundle that goes head to head with Wii U. With Uncharted 3 in that bundle it looks like they have the most powerful console of the two. The larger storage also helps. And later when the perception is set they can lower the price.

All the tongue clicking. I can take chewing, but tongue clicking...

i really do appreciate the 4 hours of podcast this week.

but man im sorry but riccardi came off real obnoxious this week. dude is Mr Negative and thats fine, but this episode he was a real asshole during certain pieces of the podcast.

ill hopefully chalk it up to them pretty much saying they were tired cause normally all these guys are chill. even Mr Negative.

but im very worried about the future of this podcast and this increasingly "i dont give a fuck" attitude they are developing. these guys are the best podcast that isnt GB. but man i just hope the attitude doesnt drag them down in future episodes.

GB does the " i dont give a fuck" attitude as well but they still give a pretty even opinion on stuff and they still gots a sense of professionalism

but if 8-4 is gonna stick with the attitude of " we're not game journalists anymore so fuck off, Dragon quest and monster hunter over all" then ill sadly be done listening to 8-4,

I loathe the TGS mascot. The weird, robot, anime girl thing with glasses? With a color scheme only a colorblind psycho could love? Absolutely the worst. I wish it was not the thumbnail for your podcast...

Game console market share is hard to move to another generation; ask Nintendo, Sony, and Sega. Sony knows this so they are keeping their prices up there and cutting their costs with a new, cheaper to make console. They need money because the rest of Sony is mostly struggling and gaining market share now is of little value because the attach rate for late console buyers is low low low.

Jack Tretton (Sony CE America) was asked a few years ago why it took so long to get to a $99 PS/2 and he said it was because the $99 PS1 was not good for Sony. The $99 PS1 sold like crazy, but he said that people seemed to have purchased one or two games with the console and then stopped. Since the business model is about selling games, this was not a good result for Sony. It also explains why the redesigned PS3 is exclusively selling in bundles -- this gooses the attach rate and the profit margin for Sony.

I think the reason Microsoft skipped Gamescon this year is similar -- there is little to gain and spending the money for a large presence at the show seems like a waste when they will need to spend a lot more to promote the next XBox in a year.

You guys talk about monster hunter for like 45 minutes. It's maddening.
