Reviews: Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception Video Review

Yea I'm not watching any video reviews until after I beat the game.

so are all giant bomb videos youtube videos now? am I the only one who's noticed?

Just blew through Uncharted One and Two in less than a month. May put Skyrim in between me and Uncharted 3.

I love the almost Raiden pulling at the beginning of the game. Of course, you know that's not the end of Drake. Also, as with the last game, there is a scene where a character appears to get mortally wounded where right before that scene said character took three RPGs to the face and didn't flinch. I found there never felt like there was any real danger to the characters this time, where last game one person you were with did die and another was seriously wounded. Even when it seemed like someone might die or did die you knew they couldn't because the story arc for them wasn't over yet. But my favorite part of the game was trying to escape from a grenade in the water, I got stuck inside of a boat where Drake was chest up sticking out of the floor, able to shoot, but no one could hit him. I did manage to escape out of the environment after I made sure to kill all of the enemies.

And screw Ghost Rider.

I feel like Brad is underselling the game's cinematic moments. I felt like it was a lot more refined and awe-inspiring than Uncharted 2. Uncharted 2 also sacrificed some of the personality of the characters, but the story in U3 is a lot more personal and punchy.

@buzz_killington: I prefer the tone of Uncharted 2. It was more lighthearted and funny. I feel like it suited the gameplay better. Added to that feeling of playing a action movie.

Also yes that ending was terrific.

i did but only before i played it. it happens really early on so it's not really a spoiler at all.

Gotta love the dead body's hand on that AK-type gun when Drake pulls it out of the sand. Also, very cool ending.
