i'm already on board after watching like 5 min... game seems very cool

Looking forward to this. Seems like the reaction on Steam is pretty positive. Although it seems like some of the weapons need tweaking before final release though. Some are complaining about some weapons not worth using and the AI having too much freedom regarding just floating through locked doors and such.

This looks more awesome than many games I've paid the full $60 for. You guys at East keep making QLs of games that I want to buy, support and love, keep up that great work.

Part of me really wanted this video to just be Jeff and Brad making Destiny jokes but this was pretty great too. Game seems really cool, will definitely get it at the proper release if not before.

This was the first game I got a Steam refund on! Not a knock on the game, I just overestimated my desire to play a game when I really should have been focusing on something else.

I suspect Gaunt's Ghosts was the Imperial Guard series of books Vinny was talking about.

As 40k fiction goes it's pretty good stuff.

I'm very much a "no Early Access" kind of guy, but the second this comes out as a full release count me on board.

Also I appreciated the Warhammer 40k talk with Vinny and Austin.

This looks great, bought it after watching the video, just need to get my pc fixed now so I can play it [as I just found out my laptop isn't fast enough to play it properly]

@defordj: You already know.

I was worried about it, but after giving it a shot I don't really have a problem getting everything and finishing in the time limit. On top of that, the bonus you get for finishing under par isn't all that significant, I've found. In some cases it has been much more worth it to take my time and get the bonus objectives.

Speaking as a fellow dad, I love when @vinny goes full on Dad-joke mode.

I got this game about a week ago and I basically stopped playing it after about 3 campaign restarts. That first tutorial level is totally fine, but after that anything above difficulty level 2 is brutally difficult. There is just way too just stuff that can screw you up and the fact that you can eventually be screwed over to the point where you have to restart your campaign is a huge bummer when the game itself is so cool and fairly fun to play.

It's still a pretty good game and I'll pretty certainly go back to it, just be wary if you aren't great at twitch shooters because this one gets rough fast.

Looks awesome. I liked Galak-Z a whole lot, and this looks just as good (if not better).

What I hope they improve on is the longevity. Beat Galak-Z in 6 hours and haven't touched it since. But Spelunky, my roguelike of choice, has resulted in probably 1,000 hours at this point.

I hate to just compare the two games, but they have a whole lot of surface-level similarities.

an Only War tabletop game with Vinny, Austin, and Alex would be hilarious.

@austin_walker Hey Austin. Since you are the tabletop editor, Vinny have a pedestrian interest in tabletop gaming and Alex will have some belligerent fun, you should really do some GBeast unplugged. I vote for an RPG like Shadowrun, Horus Heresy or the new Star Wars Force and Destiny.

Love everything about this. Except the time limit. That's just not the type of player I am, I take my time with like everything and time limits like that can stress me out to a physically unpleasant degree.

It's one of the main reasons I could never get into stuff like Spelunky.

Is anyone else here an indie dev with a few dozen design documents laying around that they pluck from to make new games from? Has said indie dev also ever seen another game come along that matches very closely to one of your original ideas before you were able to develop it? Like, to the point where you can't wait to buy that game and play it because you thought you were going to have to be the one to make it for it to exist? That's me and this game right now.

So Austin is Tau. Yeah, I can buy that.

Listening to Vinny try to grapple with the idea of the Adeptus Mechanicus without really understanding it is fun, since they're so bizarre.

How I wish I in Sherbrooke now

I'd love to see the guys play a Warhammer tabletop game but I'm afraid that the cost for buying the miniatures might exhaust the GBEast budget for the next few years.
