Unfinished: Watch Dogs 04/22/2014

If there is a way to get through a firefight by just hacking the environment and not firing a shot, I'm in.

Okay, Watch Dogs, I'm back on board. I liked Max Payne 3 and this game reminds me of a more tech based version of that game mixed with GTA 4.

And shout out to Jeff's New Balance.

Yeah, for the most part, I mean the cost of acquiring and maintaining hardware, in terms of both money and time investments, though the latter will vary greatly depending on your individual level of proficiency with troubleshooting computer problems.

I will admit, things are a little different at this point in time because the current generation of consoles are still very new, so even if there was graphical and framerate parity between PC and PS4 or XB1, there's still a chance that you might not own one of those two consoles yet (I don't), which makes it a very different proposition from simply going "warts and all" and getting the version of the game for a platform you already happen to own.

Personally, I happen to own a WiiU, so if I choose to play Watch Dogs, that's where I'd play it… so I'd want to know of that version (provided it still exists…) has serious problems, but honestly, if it's 30fps instead of 60 and has muddy textures and bad pop-in, I don't consider that serious enough to warrant investing in new hardware for a game I'm on the fence about playing in the first place.

By the same token, buying a new console in order to play a game that'll run acceptably well on the PC you already own is equally impractical. That's what I meant when I said that choosing your game versions based solely on performance is the ideal scenario. If you own both, and there's no significant reasons to choose the less optimal version, then by all means.

The problem with L.A. Noire's open world is that there was absolutely nothing to do in it besides drive to the next story point. That's not a good trade-off. I'd rather the game leave me to make choices about how unrealistically violent things get than give me no reason to even consider it.

Looks good to me, can't say I'm gonna get it day one but I'll definitely play it at some point.

The more I see the less I'm hyped. Once I saw the gun radial wheel I felt a bit done. I'm sure it'll be good, but I just don't hold much hope it'll be great. I think I wanted a game closer to LA Noire in pacing but this looks more like GTA.

Looking forward to this, especially the PC version.

I am excited for this...but mainly because there is nothing to play on PS4 at the moment. It does look good, but the whole GTA, drive here cut scene, drive there cut scene thing is becoming stale in my opinion. We shall see though, I hope Im wrong.

I wanted to buy one of those retractable baton things just as a curio to have in the house but it turns out they are 100% illegal here in Canada.

So basically with the Spider tank thing the developers were like "Hey remember how you can go on tank rampage missions in saint row?! And Remember the Marijuana freak out missions in GTAV!? LET'S DO THAT
