This ql is mystifying. Why even look at a game if you're gonna RUN through it and not even try. As another poster wrote, it is troubling when you don't know if something is a bug or if Dan didn't even take the time to learn enough about if it was not a bug or not. I know you guys joke about taking yourselves seriously, but we do take you guys seriously because you do put in the work. That's why we love your work. But this... I had to think to myself, multiple times, about whether or not Dan had to go to the bathroom or something. For a game you guys talked up so much during e3 you sure gave it to the wrong person. Not cool...

Yeah, I'm kind of curious if the thing he kept mentioning about refilling the water canteen was actually a bug or if he just wasn't keeping of track whether it was full or not like he did in this video.

I watched someone else play this game and he didn't seem to be having half the problems Dan was mentioning. That said, some of Dan's criticisms are right on point. The story should be more front and center, the systems to keep track of give you hardly any time to do anything other than keep them topped off, and combat could use some work. Luckily the game is in alpha so there's plenty of time for those concerns to be fixed and I don't see why they wouldn't be.

Good. I honestly hope that's what most people decides to do with most games. Games in early pre-release states are not really meant to be played by the general public.

Only reason I can see worth getting in on a game before it's released is if you actually plan to give the developers feedback. If not, then just wait and see until its done.

Well, Dan may as well be on that very quick look when that time comes.

@cav829: You raise valid points, if this video was intended to showcase Dan's opinion on the game. But unless I'm mistaken, these video's are made to showcase a game, what that game is about and how it plays. It fails in that, as they rush over every little thing someone might want to know to the point where they don't know how to play the game themselves, really. I know this game isn't for me, because I've watched Let's Plays on YouTube. 10-15 minutes of that, tells me more than this entire video.

They should rename this stuff to 'Quick Opinions' or 'Unfinished Opinions' or something if they keep doing it this way. The content itself is fine, but it's not doing what it's supposed to. They are getting beaten at that by 17 year olds.

I am predicting this to be a Biggest Disappointment of the Year contender..

That rat piñata scene looked interesting. Good thing Dan SKIPPED IT! God dammit Dan! Just because you've seen it before doesn't mean that I've seen it yet! WTF!

You guys this is nowhere close to the disaster of Dan's Metro QL...

Game looks like it has some promise, but man that meter management doesn't look fun at all.

While I do think that this game doesn't look very good I can't say that Dan did the best job of showing things off. Skipping every cutscene, passing through stuff with no explanation, etc.

This unfinished felt unfinished, I would have preferred some more detail into what the game is. I haven't been following this game nor am I particularly interested, but the information I came away with was minimal.

That was a little rough. Why bother showing the intro for the purpose of contrast if you're just going to skip all of the scripted stuff? Sprinting in circles and poking people with your stick also doesn't seem like the most effective strategy for success. What a bizarre Unfinished.

Anyway, this game has been kicking around for a while now. The survival/roguelike aspect of it with sprinklings of story has been core to the game since it popped up on Kickstarter, not quite sure why it seems like everyone is blindsided by it. They've never messaged it any differently, and of course they were going to show a scripted sequence on stage.

People are complaining about how Dan played but I challenge you to find a video of this game that makes it look good, whether it is being played "correctly" or not. The interaction with NPCs is awkward and the rest of the game is just rummaging through trash cans so you can refill meters.

One of the most misleading games I've seen at E3. Early contender for Most Disappointing for sure.

@amyggen: No I'm talking about the one he picked up once he officially started the game; when he was actually in the world completing quests. I'd have to go back and watch the video, but I'm pretty sure he picked up a joy pill at some point during the actual "game" and I'm wondering what happens if you take the pill then.

I don't think a lot of people had heard of the game before E3, and that demo was all they knew about it.

I hope it comes together eventually. Kinda burned out on procedural stuff.

This seems like Sir, You Are Being Hunted except Bioshock.

Feels like Dan is in hurry to get this over with. Not a good way to give it a spin. He purposely blocked or missed the first hook of the game with the pinata/rat part. I've downloaded the game and its pretty good. AND it's still unfinished. Hey Dan, you gotta go to the bathroom BEFORE a sit in for a review. Too quick a look. My opinion.

I see nothing wrong with this Unfinished. This mirrors my experience with Xbox One version. I felt so lost and very disappointed with the content and performance. Felt like playing shitty Sir, You're Being Hunted.

Was really interested by this at e3, got a cool bioshock vibe from it........really disappointing that its a survival game :(

It is obviously early access. Dan was not the right person to play this, probably should of went to Vinny who would've actually played the game instead of skipping through it all.

Way too rushed of a Quick Look, despite the game not seeming all that interesting outside of the narrative elements.

I'm not sure who is supposed to benefit from this video. I understand it's a crap game, but Dan comes off as though he has no interest in playing it or talking about it. It seems like he wanted to get through the recording as soon as possible. I'm not sure if he thinks this is a waste of his time, but that's how it looks. It's so "phoned-in".

People mad at Dan: Download it and play it yourself. I thought the video did it justice (though Christ, between Dan and Brad, it's a muttermumble paradise).

I don't think Dan's quick looks are bad at all. He just gets to the crux of a game quickly and goes "yeah, this is what this game is" and then beats feet.
As much as I love a good long quick look, I really don't want to sit through one every day.

I guess it's cool to see one of these survival things have a story, but even then I have no interest...

Man, what a departure from what the trailers portrayed. The gameplay looks stale and divorced from how unique the setting is. I'll be checking out until it's finished up and keep my expectations much lower.

@kevino13: Should have said that during the trailer. "What we are showing is not what the game is actually like.". Many people just watch the trailers, not everyone is watching or following a presentation after.

lol these comments though. Dan gave as much respect to this game as it deserves.

I think this game is suffering from the same problems that Sir, You Are Being Hunted ran into; it's difficult to make a procedurally generated game with compelling content. I hope the developers consider and put a proper story mode in. That said, GB's demonstration of the game felt very lacklustre.

Saying 'fanny pack' in a british setting is weirdly amusing.

I am excited for it to be finished though.
