@bill_mcneal: I've noticed for a while that West Coast videos tend to be pretty hot. I have to turn the volume down to almost zero. East Coast videos I listen to at around 50%.

The most difficult thing for me to listen to on this site is talk of fixing stuff or mechanical things in nature, but I suppose not everyone comes from a family of mechanics and carpenters.

Edit: I wrote this during the PC builder segment but good god that Jalopy segment was nigh unwatchable for me, especially because that game is actually really good but, obviously, a very poor fit for Ben

Why would Wildlands do a Predator DLC? I mean, it's not like there's a new Predator movie coming out later this year or anything...possibly directed by the guy who played Hawkins in the first movie...it's definitely not that.

@jeff This was legitimately an incredibly useful session for helping me to commit toward building a PC. Whether or not the "game" was an accurate representation of what lies ahead, it got me excited about building my own PC and sparked a genuine curiosity in the process that I'm wonderfully grateful for. I'm certain it's going to be a nightmare, but hey, things could be worse.

Too bad the game doesn't seem very good, that camera movement makes it hard to watch.

@cats_n_tats: building a pc is a lot of fun I just built a i7 8700k machine a few months back so I could play everything at 4k. Here is some advice I hope that helps.

One of the most important things I've learned is that pc components have a 15 to 30 day return policy. Don't end up with components that don't work for you. I once had to return a video card 3 times and I also built a computer a few years ago and returned the processor multiple times due to just not liking the product. During my last build I had to return 2 power supplies to amazon due to defects as well.

Don't skimp on what you want. A pc lasts a long time I usually build a top end pc every 4 to 5 years but it's a very good investment.

When it comes to it (I don't know how familiar you are with building a computer) there are only a few things that a pc requires before needing to worry about more.

Case, motherboard, processor, case/cpu fans, ram, graphics card, power supply, hard drives, and your various inputs like monitor and keyboard mouse. Everything else is just extra. I have 6 hard drives but when building a new machine I just make sure the c drive gets set up before worrying about anything else.

I like full size cases and highly recommend the cooler master haf x case. I've used it for 3 builds in a row including my i7 3.4ghz 980 ti machine gathering dust but always get a new case don't use old ones IMHO.

There are some very good resources for finding components and comparing them to other things and I suggest userbenchmarks.com and believe it or not but just knowing the order to do things reading the manual is the best way to build a pc. Every time I get stressed out and research and watch videos and then as long as you follow the manuals you usually will be fine.

I highly recommend noctua brand cpu fans as well. Sorry if this was all stuff you already knew but i can only assume based on your post it new to you. That PC builder game seems neat, too bad the crew was so down on it. Some people really enjoy building PC's, believe it or not.

Ben can't really pull off the whole schtick of playing a game poorly on purpose for comedic effect. It's really only Vinny that has mastered being funny doing that.

That PC building simulator is really weird but also cool! The games people come up with always surprise me haha. I could see it being kinda helpful for a total newbie but you're probably better off watching some vids or reading something, still a neat thing though!

Also, yo, didn't know Wildlands had a singleplayer component, adding it to my wishlist right now, openworld sandboxy things are the best! Thanks Rorie!

One of the less good UPFs for sure, audio was a bit wafty and Ben trying to be a heel with the whole shirt thing when, ya know, they probably want to show it off to sell the damn thing. Also he ruined that game, feel bad if that turns off people from buying it as by all other accounts its pretty good.

The technical issues on this site really baffle me. You would think after 10 years they would know how to sound check the audio...

And like others said I could do without the screaming. This isn't a YouTube joint - if that is the content we want then might as well throw in the googly eyes and 60 pt font on the deck image.

That first game feels like you are on drugs. So many flashing lights and janky animations.
