The point of the Retron is that it uses your own, legitimately owned carts rather than other people's ROM dumps though.

Dan's facial expressions are the best, and his game face is awesome too!

Dan and his sidekick, the Budweiser Tallboy, are quickly becoming one of my favorite features of the show.

I'm not gonna lie, I really liked Renegade back in the day.

I really loved the general gameplay, my only real issue with it was that the scale of it all felt wrong, the maps were way too small - GDI's and NOD's bases were usually right next to each other with just a few rocks inbetween them. Renegade was released 3 years after Codename Eagle, Tribes and Wargasm, and the same year as Planetside and Battlefield 1942, so we had already seen large scale FPSes with vehicles at that point, though Planetside was the only other of them with such a heavy focus on defending bases. I had been hoping that Renegade would be at a similar scale, so I was slightly disappointed in that. As it was, the helicopters and Orcas just weren't particularly useful, since the space you could fly them in was so incredibly limited. I also didn't really like the more futuristic vehicle designs compared to the original C&C, while also not having the really futuristic mech stuff of Tiberian Sun.

But looking back, it's still one of my favorite FPSes of that era.

What is Danny talking about saying he has never seen anything like the 7-1 Brazil defeat....Arsenal have been on the end of some similar results in the last couple of years.

C&C Renegade looks totally not awful at all. Actually kind of cool.

Rorie was hilarious throughout this entire show. God damn. What a great UPF.

Watching Dan play Renegade and Red Alert 2, nostalgia really hit me and I bought the C&C Ultimate Collection which seems to be the only way to get those games even though I also have nostalgia for Tiberian Sun and Generals so bonus.

@dannyodwyer in defense of americans, for what its worth, pronouncing "Gemma" with a hard "G" is just a @rorie thing, not an American thing. It's clearly pronounced Jemma.

Also I totally went through RA2 and expansion campaigns during last Christmas holidays, the games still hold up incredibly well. Better then RA3 in fact.

Too bad you no longer get the old school installer however with the digital versions.
