It's pretty convenient how Dan remembers everything about Monaco's other than his violent outburst.

Is it just me or are the voicemails super, super quiet? I have to crank up my volume to hear anything at all, and if anyone talks over it at all, the voicemail is just completely drowned out.

You may need to delete and re-download the podcast. I've run into the situation before where my podcast app had automatically downloaded an old version of a podcast episode then I had to manually delete the podcast episode before it would download the updated version.

Also, free-reign to make noise in public bathroom but unspoken rule about when you leave and sometimes becomes a game of chicken to see who leaves first.

I think Fellowship holds up well, but The Two Towers and Return of the King don’t as much. RotK gets really cheesy at times even for the series, and the criticism of the ending(s) is well deserved. For Two Towers, I can’t get past George W Bush loving it and having it speak to him while he drew up Iraq War plans. The post-9/11 time in entertainment was really dire for a couple years there.

All that being said, the WETA Workshop stuff holds up better than just about anything in movies. I could watch bonus features about the fabrication of the weapons and armor forever.

I took an edible before watching this and all the poop and gore and kidney stone talk made me suuuper squeamish to the point that I was fast-forwarding to get past stories but then I lost it when Dylan got on the mic, so it all evened out. Also: Lucy's reaction to hearing the words POOTY TANG.

I remember watching Braindead (aka Dead Alive in the US) when I was like 12 or so at a friends place. We were laughing (but not puking) the entire movie. Every time I drink a raspberry soda I think of that because my friend had Soda Stream with raspberry flavor and that was also the first time I had raspberry soda

"Um akshully" Lucy is wrong. The Lord of the Rings is 1 story told over the span of 6 books divided into 3 volumes containing 2 books each

I saw Jurassic Park in theaters when I was 6, and it was life-changing for me.

I always loved dinosaurs as a kid, but hated that they weren't done "seriously". Jurassic Park made them out to be killing machines that were scary, and I couldn't have loved it more. To this day it's still my all-time favorite movie.

Edit: also my hot take that Terminator 2 is not great and Terminator 1 is far, FAR better in every conceivable way. 2 has great effects and some memorable moments but 1 is just a better time. Rewatched both recently and it only strengthened my resolve.

When Lucy talked about staying up late and watching horror movies I had a blast of nostalgia for those crappy Horror channels on British TV full of B movie badness. Amazing stuff.
