This will not turn into a PC/Mac flame war.

I won a Mac and currently it is my only platform possible to play games like Civ 5.
Now Civilization 4 has Mac support, anyone have an idea when Civ 5 will support Macs?

It does suck that it didn't support it from the get go, but hopefully they should release a patch, or some sort of 'steamplay' thing that would let you, i have no doubt that they will eventually have it playable on MAC though.

Yeah I figure eventually they will release a Mac client, especially with how prominent Civ 5 has been involved with Steam.
Does anyone remember if Civ IV came our day-and-date on both PC and Mac, or was it like Civ 5 and came out later?

It came out MUCH later, actually. Beyond the Sword, the final Civ 4 expansion, took probably 18 months to make it to Mac.

Firaxis usually doesn't do mac ports, they outsource it to some company.  And this is a brand new engine they built...

It took almost a year for the civ 4 mac port so sit tight or load up bootcamp.

Yup it usually takes at least six months for Mac ports of Civ games so you'll have to sit tight.

    [Insert Mac user joke here].

I guess you can play more Civ 4 or Civ Rev while you wait.
