First off, brilliant game, love it. 
 
However... and I may be completely wrong here, but isn't the scenario style setting for the Earth map actually missing? In other words, there is no way to actually make sure you start where Germany is on the real world map, when you play as the German civilization? I remember Civ IV having this feature, clear as day. Have they actually gone and removed it?
 
Due to buying it off Steam I do not have access to an instruction manual sadly, so there really is no other way for me to check this up except through the wisdom of my fellow giantbombers.

Well, i once started in France when playing as France but most of the time i do not start off in the proper area... 

I don't think there is a way to do it built into the game. However, if you just go to the browse mods section and sort by highest rated, some of the highest ones are mods that allow you to do just that. Since the mod browser is integrated into the game, it's really simple to do.
