This game used to terrify me as a child

Silent Hill 2, one of the most iconic survival horror games of all time. In my opinion, this game still holds up very well today. The graphics were and still are amazing. The sounds, lighting and atmosphere are brilliantly eerie in nature. The controls can be slightly clunky at times and the voice acting could've been better. The puzzles are fairly well done with the option to raise or lower their difficulty when starting a new game. The story is very well written and if you look online after completing the game and read up on extra backstory about the creatures in the game you'll even learn more about what went on if you didn't initially. The game has multiple endings depending on how you play, which allows for much replay value. The creature designs in this game can be downright disturbing at times, just like with most Silent Hill games. My absolute favorite thing about Silent Hill 2 though is the soundtrack. Akira Yamaoka did a superb job at creating the musical pieces for this game. You'd just have to hear them to believe it. This game can still be pretty intense at times, even as much as I've played it. This was a gamechanger for survival horror games of the time and is one the absolute best of all time. If you enjoy survival horror or are just looking for a very story driven game, Silent Hill 2 is a must own.
