    Was ready to play for my first time, bought this and Dead Space, decided to give this a try first, I hear a baby crying I read something I found on a desk. BAM RROD. :'(

    How long does it usually take to get a new 360? I sent mine into microsoft using their instructions when I called them. I'm assuming 2-3 weeks?

    If you're in Canada, they ship the box from the east coast to the west coast, so it takes two weeks.
    Then it takes two weeks to ship back to them.
    Then they send you a new XBOX and it takes 2 weeks to get to you.

    1.5 months.

    i don't think so man, my brother lives 4 hours away from me and he got his back a lot earlier than that..

    and by the way, they changed it, they don't send you a box anymore, they emailed me the thing and said find a box and put the thing on it and send it with the 360 in it. Just don't use the 360 box.

    @RsistncE: Took a good month and a half for me to get mine. They had to send me TWO boxes. Plus mine happened near launch so there was a lot of console failure traffic happening.

    On the bright side, no games are coming out any time soon.

    @keyhunter: Yeah that would make a difference. I got mine a year after launch and exactly a year later is when it RROD'd. All I know is mine took about 2.5 weeks.

    Apparently not, I'm in canada and I called them and they emailed me the thing to put on the box and told me too get a box that the 360 could fit in and send it.

    @RsistncE: I don't think they do the box thing anymore. Most of my friends 360's have since E74'd and they had to supply their own box.

    That's because you're only like 200 miles away from where they do the repairs. Redmond Washington is the headquarters and manufacturing location of Microsoft, and all those RRODs go through there. Whoever said it has to go east coast didnt know what they were talking about

    @AgentJ: I was tracking my shipment. It goes to Toronto Ontario. Also the dorky loser that works for customer service told me so. They don't REPAIR them in Canada. They ship broken ones to USA eventually, and just send us a new one.

    Wow, Microsoft really is doing a lot to combat the Red Ring problem. Think about how much money it must cost them to give out new xboxes. It's not like they are going to make a lot of money on the repaired ones when they try to sell them.

    Yeah it's pretty great. As far as losing money on the two XBOX'es that have died, I'm pretty sure they made it back on software sales.
