Similar in most respects to Q*Bert, in Slinky, the player controlls the popular toy on an isometric playfield. Squares change color as Slinky steps on them, and gameplay proceeds to the next level when all squares' colors are changed. In later levels, Slinky must land on squares multiple times to change the color before proceeding. A variety of enemies chase Slinky, and cut-scenes play between levels. There is no end; gameplay is over once the player exhausts all of Slinky's lives.
