I just played it and found it to be quite enjoyable. My only problem is the camera which was inconsistent at times. It seems to be mostly another Sly game which is okay with me. What did you guys think of the Sly 4 demo?

Imma just repost my thoughts from another thread:
The whole thing felt really... safe. I was expecting them to really play at nostalgia, but I wasn't expecting something almost boringly-by-the-books.
Graphically, it looks okay (certainly not as stunning as I'd hope for), but at least the animations have a ton of TLC behind them. But I just think that there is plenty of room to improve that series. The voice acting and writing of prior entries always seemed 'good enough' to suffice the cheesy 90s cartoon show aesthetic, but it really doesn't hold up to modern standards. On the gameplay front, it feels too familiar, and problematically so. All the characters move too slow, the jumping feels several notches too floaty, and the brawling feels way too reminiscent of the mindless brawlers of that era.
I don't know. I really enjoyed those old games at the time, but I guess I was expecting more ambition behind it--which is strange to say, because nothing in the demo was outright bad (aside from maybe the before-mentioned voice acting and writing).

I loved it. It's exactly what I wanted. There hasn't been a new Sly game in 8 years, so I'm perfectly happy with them playing it safe on the first level of the game. From the videos I've seen, it looks like they're focusing on the platforming much more than Sly 3, which had extended minigame sections. I'm definitely picking it up tomorrow.

I hadn't played any of the other Sly Cooper games, so I didn't have any nostalgia to draw on for enjoyment. With that in mind, I found the Sly Cooper section fun, the turtle section (Bentley?) moderately interesting (especially the hacking "minigame"), and hated the combat section (with the hippo...Murray?).
Any idea how much of the game you play as the hippo? I was all set to buy the game, until I played that section - it wasn't fun, character wasn't interesting, and the attacks felt weak. Still, if it's only a small percent of the game, that would be fine - I really did enjoy the Sly Cooper section and found the turtle section enjoyable.

@DeathTrap: Going by previous Sly games, I'd say that you won't be playing as Murray nearly as much as Sly. Murray's pretty much just been there for comic relief and some mindless combat sections.
@PK_Koopa:No it is not. For reasons unknown to me, Sly 4 isn't coming out here until the end of next month (according to Amazon). So don't expect the demo soon.
On topic, I loved it. It's more Sly but with new graphics and it looks great. I'm picking my copy up before I go to class in the morning and running home after class to play it.
