Overview
Located midway through the Iron Keep, the Smelter Demon guards one of two paths (the other being Belfry Sol) to the Old Iron King. Wielding a massive greatsword and emitting flames from an exposed core of fire in its torso, the Smelter Demon can prove to be a punishing foe, especially as the fight carries on. Eventually its core produces greater damaging flames, which can become a serious concern if a character's fire defense is low. Later on, it will even imbue its greatsword with fire, sometimes making a mistimed roll or heal fatal. Despite all this however, all of its attacks can be easily dodged and the fire damage from its core flames can be mitigated with high enough fire defense.
After defeating the Smelter Demon, its armor will become available for purchase from Maughlin the Armourer, as long the player has spent at least 1000 souls in his shop. Its soul can be used to craft its unique greatsword.
