I was just over at allmusic reading about Men Without Hats' last album when I read this sentence: 
"   Musically, No Hats Beyond This Point features such juvenile instrumental backing and insipid melodies that it's about as satisfying as a Super Nintendo soundtrack. " 
  
Don't you just hate it when people *cough*David Jefferies*cough* generalize about things.  Surely there are SNES games with very satisfying soundtracks.  Right? 
Just because someone, especially a music critic, doesn't find satisfaction within a genre, doesn't mean they should dismiss it as tripe.  Now, I understand the point about the album, but it's just phrased so wrong.

I don't quite see how racism factors into this but yeah, the guy is being just ignorant by saying that every SNES soundtrack is a poor collection of music.

The TMNT IV: Turtles in Time soundtrack alone is better than half of the shit that qualifies as "music," now a days... but you seriously need to get your offensive/discriminatory terms straightened out.

@Gamer_152: Not the true definition of racism, the new internet definition of it.  Basically, it just means having a prejudice against something, but "racist" is more "edgy."  You know, like how people have begun to use "rape" in place of "own" when they're totally killing others in FPSs.

I did it in the hope of seeing racist acts. 
 
Also, I hate it when people badmouth video game soundtracks. I'd like to see any other format of entertainment make music as memorable as Starcraft or Orcarina of time.

What about... the music industry? I've heard they've put out some pretty good stuff.

Never heard of them, but they sound like a promising up-and-coming act! I can't wait for when 50 Cent makes just jump from video game mascot to musically talented rapper.

I never knew the SNES was now classified as a race, not being a sarcastic asshole that critic needs to listen to more video game soundtracks to actually have a backed up opinion about them.

SNES jokes are the WW2 jokes of the video game world.  Everyone finds them funny except for those that remember...*faint trumpet melody*
