Play a floor in tower mode once, then go back in and replay that floor.  A hint comes up that gives you a clue as to what you must do in the match in order to unlock the chest.

    Example:
"You are not alone" = switch characters a couple times during the match, and you'll unlock the chest.
"Into the void" = score a ring out against your opponent.

    ^ All true.

First you have to go to the 60 floors then you have to decend in the tower.

From what i have heard the decsend is ALOT harder.

descending, you pick two characters and it's tag all the way down, against two charactes (as far as I've gone down) and then every 5th stage there's a boss after the two characters, and for each boss you beat, you get an item...

descending the tower unlocks after 20 floors ascended.

good lord! i thought i was almost done with the ascent last night as i approached flr 17. thank god it all autosaves after each set...which i should ask about.

does it stay a set of three floors for each mission complete all the way to the top? i.e. -15th flr thru 17th flr...that kind of thing?

Some of em are just based on luck or move spamming.  Like I got the 1st floor item by throw spamming since none of em block/guard against them.

the game has the buttons alittle different.

    on the 360
    A is called G - Guard
    B is called K - Kick
    X is called A - Vertical
    and Y is called B - Horizontal

    use A and X for throwing. (G and A)

I'm having the same issue, is it that you have to do three without out getting hurt? Three on the same opponent? Three in a row? Three different throws?

I was confused by it at first but you have to do "attack throws" rather than normal "throws".  In your character's move list, look for the AT symbol.  An example is while rising B  with Zasalamel (B being vertical attack).  If you hit with that he will go into a throw, so spam that until you get the treasure.
