    Spider-Man 3

Game » consists of 12 releases. Released May 04, 2007

The web-slinging, joke cracking, Spider-Man is back. The third game in the movie tie-in series sees Spider-Man battle more foes than ever and even get a new makeover, and of course, it offers plenty of swinging around the city.

    Spiderman 3 the game

Note: I have not played any of the previous Spiderman games. With that said, Spiderman 3 is a great game that deserves to be played.

    1. Plot: The story of Spiderman 3 the game not only revolves around the events of the movie but also branches out  using other enemies from the Spiderman universe (New Goblin, Sandman and Venom are in the game along with Kingpin, Scorpion, Lizard, Rhino and Kraven the Hunter) and three new gangs that are causing trouble in NYC. Now with all the extra material that is added to just the film's plot, the movie really doesn't play a huge part in the game. Even so, the game does a great job of using the key moments from the movie and has a scene that (in my opinion) should have been in the movie (the scene that shows how Venom got Sandman to fight Spiderman) The added story branches make the game more interesting and not just some crappy, last minute shit that just adds on to how long it will take you to beat the game.
    2. Gameplay: SM3's gameplay is varied. There is the web slinging through the open sandbox environment, the fighting between foes and bosses, the minigames and the button sequences. Web slinging is cool (especially when you get the hang of it) . Fighting is great due to the web abilities that work hand in hand to regular punching and kicking. Foes are pretty easy to beat up. Bosses though, are not as easy to beat and can take awhile to defeat but eventually become rewarding victories. You gain new moves as you complete missions but this can get in the way when trying to perform a specific move. Minigames are optional and are alright. Button sequences are scripted moments where you have to push the right buttons at the right time to finish a mission or defeat a boss. This feels okay at first but when finishing off bosses, this can get very irritating and can take multiple times to get the sequence right. Finally, wall crawling is good but the camera can get a bit irritating at times.
    3. Graphics/Sound: Visually, SM3 does not quite look as good as many other games out today but, that does not hinder its performance. Its music was very good by having scores from the movie.
    4. Bombclusion: SM3 may have a few flaws, but they are not  enough to keep it from being an amazing experience.

      Not impressed 0

The graphics are nice, the city design is amazing, and there are a lot of comical scenes... but when it takes 5 mins to beat-up on 5 grunts, and you still get you butt kicked in... there's a problem with the fighting system.  Not to mention that they usually roam around in gangs of 3 - 5 villains, and it can happen that you get surrounded by 3 - 5 gangs with a potential of facing over 20 bad guys.  DUDES!!!  Not kewl.  Regardless of this, it's still a pretty addicting game.  The photo-snapping i...

      Spider-Man 3: Decent but upsetting 0

Following the great Spider-man 2 game Spider-man 3 had me really excited until I actually started to play it.  Although flying around NYC still is the strongest part of the game, the character animations in the cutscenes are laughable.   The gameplay while swinging feels fluid and easy, but when it comes to combat it seems to falter.  The combat becomes very confusing and frustrating on certain characters.  Camera-wise Spider-man 3 is atrocious, getting stuck in awkward places, just making thing...
