Pretty solid list imo though there are some questionable nominees. I am kinda surprised that GT is doing a useless Best Trailer category and not a GT Gamers Choice award.

My predictions:

Best Studio - Rocksteady, Best Wii Game - The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword, BF3 takes Best Shooter and Best MP, Best RPG - Skyrim, I also predict Batman: Arkham City to take several awards including GOTY.

Well whether you like it or not it's still the only thing we gamers got to an organized gaming award.

EDIT: Yes I know I forgot the 'S' in Spike.

Is Arkham City really an adaptation?

'Best Graphics' category is fucking stupid. They should broaden it, to 'Best Looking Game' or 'Best Art Direction' or something, so that it can include games like Rayman Origins or Zelda: Skyward Sword. Because if they wanted to award "Best Graphics", they would have to modify their judges panel to include programmers instead of journalists, because "Best Graphics" can be measured objectively.

That's what I thought. I think it's the thought behind it was that it's an adaptation from already existing materiel. I haven't got around to finishing Arkham City but as a fan of Batman comics I can say that they used a shit ton of metrical that was lifted straight out of the comics. Arkham Asylum imo, was more of an adaptation though that's clearly based off of Arkham Asylum: A Serious House On A Serious Earth. If you liked the game then you should totally check this comic book out. Hands down the most creepy Batman I've ever read.

Does anyone actually care about the awards at the VGA's? They're always rushed out and not really the point, everyone I know just watched for the game announcements. It would be nice if they actually gave a shit about the awards, but as of the state of the show right now the only reason I would watch the VGA's is or the announcements. Hoping for some exciting stuff this year, E3 was fairly disappointing and I think the industry needs a resurgence of sorts. Something like what CoD4 did for the industry, the next big thing.

Best graphics has some of the most laughable nominees I have ever seen. No Battlefield 3, Crysis 2 and The Witcher 2.
Dragon Age 2 is also pretty stupid when most people seems to look at it as a big disappointment and one of BioWares worst games.

Must...fight...urge to complain about something I will not watch or vote on.

How is Deus Ex an original game? It's a prequel to an established franchise!

I liked Cave Johnson in Portal 2 and Skyrim should be in their for original score, it has great music.

How did Mass Effect 2's "The Arrival" make it in as a nominee for best DLC? That entry proves how stupid the VGA's are.
